The next day Ikari got up early and headed off towards Veilstone City. “Where’d all this fog come from Jolt?” asked Ikari feeling her way along a rock wall. A low eerie whistle sound came from behind a bunch of trees to the side of Ikari. “Wonder what that was” said Ikari heading towards the sound. Ikari hid inside a bush and looked over at the area where the sound was coming from. “Whoa!” said Ikari seeing this big silvery white pokemon laying on the ground, restrained by a net. “Finally we captured this damn Lugia” said a man that was standing in front of the pokemon. “A Lugia?” Ikari whispered to herself. “It looks like a bunch of pokemon hunters Jolt” Ikari whispered to her pokemon. “We gotta help out that Lugia” she whispered. Ikari crawled around the bush to get a better position for her plan. Ikari took out a whistle and blew hard on it. A sound came from it that startled the men who were approaching the trapped Lugia. “That sound came from over there!!” yelled one of the guys running towards it. The other guys followed and as soon as they were gone Ikari ran from the bush over to the Lugia. The Lugia whined in pain trying to get away from Ikari. “Hey relax. I’m here to help you” said Ikari gently patting the Lugia on the head. Lugia settled down and Ikari went on to cutting the ropes that were retraining it. “Crap there’s a metal wiring!” said Ikari. A few seconds later Ikari had come up with an idea. She had Chigaru use flamethrower to heat up the metal and then had Kayu use water gun to cool it down quickly and Jolt finished it off with an iron tail and the metal shattered instantly and Lugia was free. “Okay now get outta here!” said Ikari. Lugia stared at Ikari with curiosity before taking off. “Hey what do you think you’re doing kid!!” yelled someone from behind Ikari. “Uh-oh” said Ikari to herself. Ikari ran off into the fog before any of the guys could do anything. Ikari made it to Veilstone City before nightfall. “That was a little too close for my comfort Jolt” said Ikari crawling into the pokemon center bed. Ikari quickly fell asleep. Unknown to her though, Lugia had followed her the entire time. Lugia was interested in this little kid and wanted to hang around her to see what she’s like.
“That was a good sleep” yawned Ikari pulling on her boots. Jolt jumped up onto her head and out the door of the pokemon center they went. “Let’s see, the gym should be right around here” said Ikari walking around the corner. Ikari stopped at a building that looked more like the local swimming pool. “Hello! Is this the pokemon gym?” called Ikari as she came in the door. “Yep, you’re in the right place” said a voice behind Ikari. A pink haired girl around the same size of Ikari approached her. “I’m the gym leader, name’s Maylene” said the girl. Ikari introduced herself to the gym leader as well. “So how old are you?” asked Ikari. “I’m 11, why” said Maylene. “Your only 11 and you’re a gym leader?!?” Ikari said. “Yeah, it doesn’t matter how old you are. You could be 7 and be the elite four champions” said Maylene. After that little conversation they started their 3 on 3 battle.
Meanwhile Riley has just arrived in Sinnoh’s Canalave City. “Great job Gyrados” said Riley returning his pokemon to its pokeball. “What a day Howler. Parents just came home from a championship tournament and your little sister decides to bolt on you. Ain’t life great” Riley said to himself. Riley made it to the pokemon center and got a room to stay in. Riley then checked his laptop and found a couple of messages from Ammy. “What do you mean, Ikari’s other pokemon??” said Riley to himself. Riley grabbed his pokegear and calls his girlfriend to find out what her email means. “Hello?” said Ammy on the other end of the line. Before Riley could say anything Kyoshi had grabbed the phone and yelled Riley the answer he was looking for. “The Charmander and Bulbasaur Ikari found about a year ago are here, except that they’ve evolved to their final form! Ikari never released like she was told and now they want to go with Ammy to help look for Ikari!” yelled Kyoshi. Riley was holding the phone away from his ear during this whole explanation. Ammy grabbed the phone back so she could talk to Riley. “She’s apparently named them too. They have a bandana around their necks with their names on them. She named the Charizard Inferno and the Venusaur Leaflet” said Ammy. “Might as well bring’em” replied Riley with a yawn. After hearing all of this, Riley turned off his pokegear and fell asleep on the bed.
“Okay, I think I’ve got everything now” said Ammy closing her bag. She then hands a paper to Kyoshi and Solana, Kyoshi’s girlfriend. “This is what needs to get done in the lab to keep it up and running. Rika said that she’ll be helping you both as well” said Ammy. Ammy then proceeded to take out two brand new custom pokeballs and placed them in front of Leaflet and Inferno. The two pokemon inspected the pokeballs before agreeing to get into them. The pokeballs had their name and the trainer’s name engraved into it. “Well I’m off you guys” said Ammy leaving the lab. It took Ammy at least two days to get to Canalave City and another day to get to where Riley was. By this time Ikari had gotten her third and fourth badge. She had also captured a Luxio, Croagunk, Finneon, and a Vulpix. Ikari had sent all the pokemon except for Vulpix to the lab.
“You’re the only one I haven’t thought of a nickname for yet” said Ikari looking down at her little red fox. “Pichu?” said Jolt. “Vull, Vulpix” replied Vulpix. Ikari was just leaving Pastoria City after earning her 4th badge. “Okay, we two days left to get to Hearthome City and find out what Naoko has for the prize. I hope its chocolate pocky!! I’m low on that” said Ikari. It took Ikari almost the entire day to get through the marsh land. By the time she got unstuck for the millionth time it was well past midnight. “Tired” whined Ikari crawling into her sleeping bag. Vulpix and Jolt settled in beside her. Vulpix and Jolt woke up the next morning to Ikari’s squeaking yell. Ikari had woken up to see the Lugia that she had helped out over a week ago staring at her. “Have you been following me this whole time?!?” Ikari said while trying not to have a panic attack. Lugia nudged her head up against Ikari happily. Ikari realized that this Lugia was just a kid like her. Lugia suddenly grabbed one of Ikari’s pokeball’s and went inside it. “HEY!!! Get out of there!! That’s not how it works!! I’m supposed to battle you and then capture you!!” whined Ikari letting Lugia back out. Ikari realized she acted too slowly, but it wasn’t her fault. Lugia woke Ikari up too early and Ikari was still half asleep. “Nyuu” cooed Lugia rubbing her head against Ikari’s body. After a while Ikari finally decided to keep Lugia but knew she would have to keep her on a low profile. “Its not everyday you see an eight year old with a super rare legendary pokemon” Ikari said to herself. Ikari put Lugia’s pokeball on a chain around her neck. “Great now I have to think of two names” said Ikari setting back out on the road towards Hearthome City.
Ikari had gotten within 2 miles of the city when she stopped to take a rest. “Hey Vulpix, I think I’ve found a name for you. How does Paytah sound?” said Ikari petting Vulpix on the head. “Vulpix” he happily squeaked back. “Okay then, your now named Paytah. Its Sioux language, it means fire” said Ikari. “I found it on this really cool nickname website. I’m looking one for Lugia as well. I want to make sure that all my pokemon has a special name” added Ikari putting another piece of pocky into her mouth. “Okay!” said Ikari letting Lugia out of her pokeball. “I’ve come up with a name for you! I’m going to call you Okami!” said Ikari with pride. “It’s the name of my favorite video game back home. Okami is the goddess of all that is good and is called the savior of Nippon. Well, it says that in the game” said Ikari happily. With that Ikari hit the road and only stopped to have a battle with a trainer passing by. Ikari won with Paytah. Ikari was in Hearthome City just before 7 pm. She then kinda clonked out for a while.
“Wake up sleepy head” said Naoko poking Ikari in the head. It took Ikari a few minutes to grasp where she was and who was talking to her. “Congratulations!! You got to Hearthome City within a week!” said Naoko giving Ikari a whack on the back that knocked her to the ground. Naoko apologized and told Ikari that she was used to doing that to older trainers and forgot that she was just a kid. “Here’s your reward!” said Naoko handing Ikari a pokeball. Ikari let out the pokemon and let out a squeal as a tiny little Eevee squeaked a hello at her. “AN EEVEE!!” squeaked Ikari hugging it. “Yeah, my Espeon, Evelyn, had an egg. That’s her kid, basically” said Naoko. Ikari didn’t hear what Naoko had said. Both she and Jolt were too busy doing their happy dance. “Who gave her sugar?” said Naoko looking down at Silverstar. Silverstar just shrugged her shoulders and stared at Ikari and Jolt.
