“Are you almost done packing Riley” asked Kana. “I’m done, but I just called the ferry service and they are closed for a couple of days for repairs” replied Riley. “You’d think she would wait to bolt on us until after her 9th birthday” said Kyoshi blankly as he groomed his Vulpix. “You don’t seem to care that she’s gone do you Kyoshi!!” snapped Riley. “Does it look like it! I’m bored out of my fricken mind because the runt isn’t here for me to yell at” replied Kyoshi. Riley lost his temper and punched Kyoshi right under the jaw bone. Lakota grabbed Riley and Kyoshi apart and yelled at them both for their behavior. Kyoshi had a bruise forming under his mouth and Riley had a cut on the side of his neck. “The ferry is going to take too long to get up and running” said Riley wiping the blood from his neck. “I’m going to Professor Gales’ lab and pick up my Gyrados. I’ll take that across the ocean to get to Sinnoh” said Riley leaving the house. “YEAH RIGHT! YOU JUST WANT TO SEE GALE BECAUSE SHE’S YOUR GIRLFRIEND!!” yelled Kyoshi after Riley. “Your just jealous because Solana said she wasn’t going to go the Aura festival with you this year” said Rika helping her brother up off the floor.
“So she just left in the middle of the night” said Prof. Gale. Riley nodded as he checked his Gyrados to see if he was okay to travel across the ocean. A beeping sound was heard coming from the computer in the other room. “Your going to see what it is aren’t you Ammy?” asked Riley. Prof. Gale bolted into the room and called Riley in. Riley came in and found out that Ammy just received a message from Ikari, along with a pokemon. Riley read the e-mail, it was asking if it was alright for her to send pokemon to stay at her lab. The pokemon that Ikari sent was a Chatot. The email said that Ikari had named it Chitter. “Kyoshi is going to love this” said Riley reading what Ikari had written. Riley left the lab with his Gyrados and Ikari’s newest pokemon. “Hey Kyoshi, Ikari sent you a friend to take her place while she’s gone” said Riley handing his brother the pokeball. “You mean she contacted you?!?” yelled Rika. “No, she contacted my girlfriend. She sent a pokemon that she caught” replied Riley. Kyoshi let out the pokemon and stared at the parrot pokemon that perched itself on the kitchen table. “Well at least we know she’s okay for now” said Kana looking at Chitter. “She sent us a parrot” said Kyoshi blankly. Chitter talked back by saying hi to Kyoshi and flew over and perched himself on his shoulder.
“Do you think Kyoshi will like Chitter at all Jolt?” asked Ikari walking through the thick forests of Eterna. Jolt nodded her head happily and they continued on their way. “We’re doing very well in the training aspect of life” said Ikari. “Over 7 battles and every last one of them we won” Ikari added. Kayu, Jolt, and Chigaru all gained a tremendous amount of battle experience while traveling through Eterna Forest. By the time they all made their way to Eterna City they were all at least twice as powerful than they were before entering it. “We definitely deserve a long rest after that” said Ikari looking for the pokemon center. Ikari and her pokemon skipped lunch and spent it sleeping in the room that Nurse Joy offered them at the pokemon center. Ikari was having a bad nightmare. It didn’t even make sense to her, but it still made her wake up in a very cold sweat. Ikari eventually got back to sleep and got some rest. While she was resting Riley was just departing from Aura Island on his Gyrados and heading straight for Sinnoh.
The next morning Ikari was all packed up and ready to go to the gym for her second gym battle. “Okay, Gardenia is a grass type gym leader so Chigaru I’m definitely using you in this battle. Kayu your going to sit this one out if I can help. Jolt your up with Chigaru. Finally is the battle plan, ……… I got nothing” said Ikari prepping her pokemon for the battle. Ikari arrives at the gym early in the morning and actually wakes up the gym leader from her sleep. “Okay the battle will be two on two” said Gardenia yawning. With that the battle began. Ikari started off with Jolt and Gardenia used Roserade. “Jolt use quick attack!” commanded Ikari. Jolt scored a direct hit but it took a while to bring Roserade down. Unfortunately Jolt was knocked out by Gardenia’s Turtwig. “Okay Chigaru, its up to you” said Ikari tossing the pokeball out onto the field. Chigaru came out of the ball and took his battle stance. The battle didn’t last long because of the type advantage Chigaru had over Turtwig. Chigaru won the match with a flame blitz, which Ikari never knew Chigaru could do. “Sweet our second badge already!” squeaked Ikari showing her group of pokemon. “Well you guys, from here all the way to Veilstone City we’re going to be camping out in the wilderness. We can stop in Celestic Town for supplies but other than that we’re camping out” said Ikari making her way up the rocky path of Mount Coronet. “Pii Pichu pi!” said Jolt. “Yeah I know I’ll be 9 in less than two weeks. But that’s not important right now. But don’t worry, we’ll do something about it. Probably pizza, root beer, and to top it all off is ice cream!” said Ikari. “Rika always knows where to get the best ice…..” Ikari added not finishing her sentence. “Oh, that’s right. I’m on my own for now. I also can’t contact them, I forgot” said Ikari sadly. Jolt gently patted her trainer on her head as a reassurance. With that they continued making their way through the short passage of Mount Coronet.
“Okay, don’t panic yet. We just took a wrong turn… or two” said Ikari with a slight whimper in her voice. Ikari constantly stops to check her pokenav to see if it could possibly be mistaken. The words, area unconfirmed, kept flashing across the screen of her pokenav. “This can’t be happening! I’m just a kid! How am I supposed to find my way through a mountain?!” whined Ikari. After trying to find their way out for a couple of hours Ikari and Jolt were exhausted and had decided to get some rest and start back up in the morning. “Okay that should do it for fire wood” said Ikari putting a big log block in the middle of a circle of rocks. “Let it loose Chigaru” said Ikari. Chigaru let loose a mouthful of flames and they then had an instant fire pit to keep warm. Ikari crawled into her sleeping bag and pulled her bag inside with her. The sleeping bag was almost three times her size. Jolt and Chigaru crawled in it as well and soon all three were fast asleep.
Ikari woke up late in the afternoon the next day. She never realized how tired she actually was. “Well let’s get going” Ikari said returning Chigaru to his pokeball. Jolt jumped up onto Ikari’s shoulder and they set out again to get through Mount Coronet. Ikari made it through the rest of the cave and made it out just as the sun was starting to set. “Wow look at the sunset Jolt!” said Ikari running over to the railings of the cave exit. Ikari got a strange feeling and decided to look down. Below her was a huge crevice with a long drop down. Ikari let out a cross between a scream and a squeak as she bolted back from the railing. Ikari has an extreme fear of heights thanks to Kyoshi. Kyoshi was teaching Ikari how to control a bird pokemon when you’re riding it. After he had taught her this he thought it would be cute to pull a little prank on her. He pushed her off his Pidgeot and then swooped under her so she would land back on. Least to say Ikari had nightmares for years and when the family went on vacation she had to be tranquilized in order to get her on the plane.
“Little afraid are we” said a voice behind her. Ikari turned around and saw this tall green haired girl standing next to her. “Who are you?” asked Ikari in a shaky tone. “Name’s Naoko Youko” she replied. Ikari told Naoko her name and where she was from. “Really, Aura Island” repeated Naoko. Ikari went on to tell her what she was doing in Sinnoh as well. “Well before you can do anything else, you need to get across the bridge kid” said Naoko. “But I’m scared of heights…… and flying” Ikari said. “I can help!” said Naoko pushing Ikari onto the bridge. Ikari began to spazz out. “Silverstar! Help our new friend across the bridge will ya!” yelled Naoko. A bigger than normal Raichu came up behind Naoko and hopped onto the bridge blocking Ikari from trying to get off. “Umm…… is this really necessary” said Ikari. “Yep” replied Naoko. Silverstar picked up her tail and fired a bolt of electricity that landed right in front of Ikari’s shoes. Ikari jumped back and moved out further onto the bridge. “Seriously, I don’t think that’s necessary Naoko” whined Ikari. Silverstar fired off some more bolts of lightning and before Ikari knew it she was on the other side of the crevice. “See, now was that really all that bad” said Naoko patting a paranoid Ikari on the back. “Come on, the pokemon center is just at the other end of this town” said Naoko. “RAICHUUU!” squeaked Silverstar picking up Jolt and hugging her. “What’s going on??” asked Ikari. “I think my Raichu thinks your Pichu is its little sister or something” said Naoko. “But they aren’t even related” replied Ikari. Silverstar overheard Ikari’s comment and fired a thunderbolt at her. “Okay, okay you’re related” squeaked Ikari hiding behind Naoko. Silverstar puts Jolt on top of her head and follows Naoko and Ikari.
“Well trying to beat the Sinnoh league at your age is a challenge enough. Are you sure it was a wise decision to leave home the way you did” said Naoko taking a sip of coffee. Ikari put down her root beer bottle and nodded her head. “What really made me angry was that they lied to me and my pokemon for our entire lives! The elders on the island say that my abilities as a trainer aren’t normal even for an elite champion. My family keeps on saying that I can do anything with the trainer skills that I have and I was stupid enough to actually believe them” said Ikari. “That’s why I need to prove them wrong! They don’t think I’m worth anything as a trainer and I know they’re wrong” added Ikari chugging the rest of her soda. “Well I wish you luck in what you’re doing then” said Naoko. “I’ll definitely be seeing you around. Especially if you plan to compete in the championships” Naoko added. “What do you mean by that?” asked Ikari. “What I mean is that I’m already entered in the championships” she replied. “Hey if you can make it to Hearthome City in one week I’ll give you a little gift. How does that sound” said Naoko getting up from the table. “Umm Okay” said Ikari getting curious. With that Naoko left the pokemon center and took off on her Fearow. “Well Jolt, guess curiosity is going to get the best of us” said Ikari.
