Trainer Ikari cont.

The next morning Ikari is up early and training hard with Chigaru. “Come on Chigaru!!” whined Ikari. Chigaru refuses to accept Ikari as his trainer. “Pi Pichu?” said Jolt. “I can’t call home to ask for help!! They find out where I am they are going to come get and I can’t go home without proving to them I can do it! Besides I want to at least win at the Sinnoh league level for dad…” replied Ikari sitting down. “There’s got to be something I can do to get you feel a little bit better about having a trainer Chigaru” said Ikari looking through her bag for her pocky stash. Ikari pulled out a box of chocolate pocky and gave a couple of sticks to Jolt and Kayu. “You want some Chigaru?” asked Ikari holding out a bunch of pocky sticks. Chigaru sniffed at them and gulped them down in one shot. Chigaru tackled Ikari licking her face happily. “Chigaru!! THAT WAS ALL AN ACT WASN’T IT!!” yelped Ikari as Chigaru tackled her. Chigaru’s stubbornness was somewhat of an act. Ikari trained with Chigaru all morning before they headed back into town to get healed at the pokemon center.
“Well here’s the gym” said Ikari to Jolt. “Our first ever gym battle” she added. Ikari wandered around the gym trying to find the leader. Ikari winds up walking right into him. “Sorry, wasn’t looking where I going” said Ikari rubbing the side of her head. “That’s okay. I’m Roark, the gym leader. I assume you were trying to find me” said Roark. “Yep” Ikari replied. “Okay it’ll be a 3 on 3 pokemon battle” said Roark leading Ikari to the battle field.
“Go Cranidos!” said Roark releasing his pokemon. “Okay Jolt your up first” said Ikari. Jolt jumped onto the battle field and the battle began. “Cranidos use zen headbutt!” said Roark. “Jolt use agility and follow up with iron tail!” countered Ikari. Jolt was faster than Cranidos and scored a direct hit with iron tail. However despite that direct hit, Jolt was still knocked out by Cranidos. Ikari was able to knock out Cranidos and Roark’s Geodude with Kayu before he got knocked out by Cubone. “I’m down to my last pokemon” thought Ikari. “Well its up to you Chigaru” said Ikari letting him out of his pokeball. Chigaru let out a yawn and stretched before taking his battle stance. “Cubone use bone rush!” yelled Roark. Cubone rushed forward wielding his bone in front of him. “Dodge and use ember Chigaru!” said Ikari. Chigaru dodged but decided to use headbutt instead of ember. “What are you doing Chigaru?! We’re supposed to be a team!!” yelled Ikari. Chigaru just grinned at his trainer. Ikari had Chigaru use ember and he listened this time. Cubone was tired and in a last ditch attempt used bonemarang. “Chigaru look out!” called Ikari. Chigaru jumped up and caught the bone and whipped it back at Cubone hitting it in the head knocking it out. “Well that’s one way to do it” said Ikari. “Well congratulations! You win, here’s your first official Sinnoh league badge” said Roark handing Ikari her badge. Chigaru put his front paws up on Ikari to get a look at the badge. “Awesome!!” said Ikari looking down at her badge. Roark also gave her a badge case to keep her badges in. “The next gym will be in Eterna City. You’ll have to go through Eterna Forest to get there” said Roark leading Ikari to the door. “Thank you” said Ikari as she left. Ikari stopped at the pokemon center to heal her pokemon and then left Orebourgh Town and headed west to Jubilife City. “It’s so shiny!” squealed Ikari happily. Jolt bit on it to see if it was edible and found out it wasn’t. By the afternoon Ikari was having lunch in the Jubilife pokemon center. “Kyoshi said that pokemon center food tastes awful, but it’s ten times better than his cooking” said Ikari chomping down on her tuna sandwich. “Dour?” said Chigaru nudging Ikari in the leg. “What’s wrong?” asked Ikari petting her Houndour on the head. Chigaru rolled over onto his back and that’s how Ikari found out he liked to have his tummy rubbed after he eats. “You act like a big tough guy and I find out you’re an absolute softie” said Ikari teasing Chigaru. Chigaru probably didn’t hear her because he was enjoying the tummy rub too much. After lunch they hit the road again this time heading north.
Meanwhile back on Aura Island all hell is still loose. Riley had spent the night out in the woods just walking around. He came back to the house to find Kyoshi sulking outside. Riley ignored Kyoshi and went inside to talk to his parents about Ikari’s actions. “What do you think made her do this” said Ikari’s mom, Kana. “Ikari knew how much dad wanted to win the championships and she wanted to do something that will make him feel better. Add in the comments from Kyoshi and Ikari thought that the only way to do this was by leaving” said Riley. “It’s the only logical answer I can come up with for Ikari doing this” he added. “I didn’t think my obsession of winning the championships would affect anyone else, especially Ikari” said Lakota. “Well now that I think of it, Ikari had always watched you dad whenever you trained your pokemon. She even followed you up the mountain near the tree of life to watch you train” said Rika. “What I can’t understand is why she won’t call any of us to let us know that she’s okay” she added. “She knows that if she contacts us she runs the risk of being forced back home” said Lakota. “Riley, I want you to go to Sinnoh and try and find Ikari” he added. “Why not send Kyoshi?” asked Rika. “Because she hates my living guts for what I said, not to mention she’ll never listen to me” said Kyoshi coming into the kitchen. “She values what you say more than you think Kyoshi” said Kana. Kyoshi mumbled something under his breathe and walked out of the kitchen with another soda. “I’ll pack right away. I’ll take Howler with me, she can track Ikari no problem” said Riley getting up from his chair.
“So this is Floaroma Town” said Ikari looking at all the flowers. Jolt squeaked a sleepy response from Ikari’s backpack where she was sleeping. “My aren’t you a young one to be traveling by yourself” said someone from behind Ikari. Ikari turned around to see a purple haired guy with purple eyes approaching her. “Sorry let me introduce myself. I’m Lucian” said the guy. Ikari introduced herself as well. “Roark told me of a little kid that had challenged him today and he told me that she was heading to Eterna City. Glad I was able to catch up with you” said Lucian. Ikari found out that she accidentally left her sketchbook at the gym. “You have some pretty amazing sketches in here” said Lucian handing Ikari her sketchbook. “Thank you” she replied. “Why don’t we talk in the pokemon center” said Lucian leading the way.
Ikari took off her bag and picked up Jolt and put her on the lobby couch and then put her sketchbook into her bag. “You seem a little too young to be traveling around by yourself” said Lucian. “I maybe little but I’m more than capable of taking care of myself” replied Ikari. A roll of thunder is heard from outside and it begins pouring rain. Jolt’s ears twitched at the sound of the rain and she woke up. “Pi, pi Pichu” said Jolt looking at Ikari. “Have a good nap Jolt?” asked Ikari petting her pokemon on the head. Jolt happily squeaked a reply while enjoying the head scratching. “Your Pichu seems very attached to you” noted Lucian. Ikari tells Lucian that they’ve been friends long before she could even talk. Ikari and Lucian talked for a little while longer and Lucian finds out that Ikari plans to enter the Sinnoh league once she gets all eight badges. “Well I’ll be looking forward to the day that we’ll battle” said Lucian as he left. “The elite four aren’t that bad of a people” Ikari said to Jolt. Ikari stayed at the pokemon center overnight and left early in the morning and headed into Eterna Forest.
