• Chapter V: Ally once…enemy now. Power of Shadanto.

All four of us dashed down the streets.
‘What do you mean Halaso has come back?’ I shouted to Slifer
‘Exactly what it sounds like buddy.’
‘Damn it’ I looked forward again and remembered sitting on the church the other day thinking about mine and her last encounter. She acted as my first love and only used me…used me to steel the power I had. Once I was stronger than anyone in my team, even stronger than soul but she took the power. I and Slifer only managed to beat her back and she retreated.
‘You ready Shad?’ Bish asked as we hit outside town.
‘Ready or not she can not enter the town. Let’s go!’ I said as we hit the relay point. We stood for a matter of seconds before she walked into sight. I looked at her hand.
‘Damn it…she still has it. Still has my Thornins.’ Thornins was the twin of Ganthort, even though I had learned to summon Ganthort twice it will never reach its full power without the other half. I blinked and herd Bish go flying back.
‘Damn, move!’ I shouted as I jumped back summoning Ganthort just in time to block a blow. Pathinne shot an arrow which Halaso caught and threw back. I grabbed my old blade and tried to pull it out of her hand. ‘Give it back!’ I shouted as she lifted her leg into my crotch. I leaned over as she back spun her elbow into my spine. I crashed to the floor.
‘Give what back? Its mine now hunni’ she said running her finger over the blade.
‘Damn it!’ I screamed in rage as Slifer ran past me. My eyes opened wide as he launched into the air with a lance in each hand and three following him. He has the strange ability to use gravity and move things with his mind so he can fight with a lot at once. He went to stab with one lance which Halaso grabbed and pushed down. The second lance was swinging from her right and she flipped Thornins around and blocked that as the last 3 lances came from above. She flipped back kicking Slifer in the face on her way over avoiding all the lances. He flipped back and clapped his hands together, grabbed a lance and threw it at the floor under Halaso.
‘Gravity binding!’ He shouted as the ground under her compressed over the power. She fell to her knees and Pathinne shot a volley of arrows as Bish jumped back to his feet backing them up with shrunken. Halaso rolled to the side and put a hand down pushing herself out of the way.
    ‘She’s to fast.’ Pathinne said
‘Yeah she hurts as well.’ Bish added as he fell to the floor, bleeding badly from the blow he took. Pathinne ran over to him but was met with a devastating blow to the face first, so powerful that the area she flew back ripped apart under her.
‘Pathinne!’ Slifer shouted as he was met with a knee to the back of the head which sent him to the floor. I looked up and moved to the left just in time to avoid a fist flying to me. I rolled over and jumped to my feet.
‘Not to shabby for a guy who lost all of his power to me.’ she said.
‘Most of his powers thank you.’
‘Haha you really think you have any power left. All you have is nothing at all.’ Her style hadn’t changed much. She had a black sleeveless t-shirt on with a longer red one on under. A short black skirt with read at the end and huge boots that covered mostly all of her legs. Still had the same long black hair. All the way down to the top of her legs.
‘I have all the power I need but I would like what you have back.’
‘You really think your having this back?’
‘I best be you thieving little b***h.’
‘Tut tut Shad. So inpatient.’ I snarled and threw a down cut with Ganthort. The cling of my two blades hitting was heard and a snarled again.
‘Give me my power!’ I yelled as I spin my body around and pulled Ganthort back knocking Thornins down. ‘Now’ I said as I landed and jumped up, my knee connecting with her face. I grinned but her grim was wider.
‘That all you got?’ She asked as she pushed her head forward and swinging Thornins down. I put my arms up to defend when she got punched in the ribs and sent her skidding to the side.
I looked to my side to see Mas.
    ‘Hey.’ She said
‘Umm hey…thanks’ I replied as Halaso coughed.
‘That was low you little cow’ she said to Mas
‘I know.’ Mas said winking and licking her tongue out a little. I laughed a little and looked at the scene again. Halaso was pissed off and Mas was toying with her. Bad mix. If Halaso has figured out how to use all the power she took from me it would be even worse.
‘Do you know who your toying with little girl?’
    ‘Nope.’ Don’t really care’
    ‘Why you…’
‘Look just bugger off.’ Mas said turning to me. ‘What bout our wa…’
‘Don’t turn away from me!’ Halaso shouted charging at Mas. I jumped up spinning my blade in my hand to face the backwards and pulled it up blocking the blow which sent me catapulting into Slifer. Mas spun around lifting her foot of the ground towards Halaso’s head summoning her soul eater gantlets around her arms and legs. Halaso’s blade blocked it and she un-summoned it and summoned her gantlets to match Mas. The fist fight started with Mas throwing a punch which Halaso put her hand on and re directed it then bringing her knee into Mas chest. Mas flipped back and landed on her feet not letting the attack slow her down. She jumped back into a brawl of blocks and counters. The ground cracked around the two. Slifer had fallen back to his knees drained of power. I was standing holding my left arm and Bish and Pathinne staggered to there feet.
Mas threw her leg onto Halaso’s shoulder then spun the other into her head but Halaso ducked under it and grabbed the leg she already blocked and threw Mas over her head into the floor. Mas put her hand down and flipped back as I jumped up and catapulted my leg down towards Halaso but she rolled out of the way spinning her leg towards me. I grabbed it, flipped over it and threw my fist into her face as Mas put her hand on the floor and pushed her body up feet first into Halaso’s chin. A devastating crack was heard when it connected and Halaso was launched into the air.
‘Fire arrow.’ Was heard as Pathinne shoot an arrow made of pure flames through Halaso’s left arm.
‘Death of oblivion butterflies’ Bish shouted as he threw a few hundred shuriken that turned into butterflies with razor sharp wings all-cutting past Halaso.
‘Strike of the dragon’ Slifer yelled as he jumped above Halaso summoned his gauntlets which were fire red with a dragon head for the knuckles, and threw his fist down into the back of Halaso’s head sending her back down to earth with electricity cracking around her from the power of the attack.
‘Finish this faker!’ he yelled to me.
‘Fake?’ I said under my breath as I vanished and appeared under her. I closed my eyes and summoned both Ganthort’s and fused then into one huge blade. I held it down and looked up. Timing it right I dragged the blade across the floor ripping it away in the processes.
‘Finishing strike…’ I said as Ganthort lit up and crackled with energy. ‘DAMNATION BLOW’ I shouted as my blade glowed blue with power and connected into Halaso’s torso. I swung the blade over my body crashing it and Halaso into the floor which shattered under the power. I stood up as Ganthort slowly faded away. Turning around I saw Slifer coming over.
    ‘Nice work Shad’ He said
    ‘What did you mean fake?’
‘That’s only a part of Halaso. She must have split some of your power from her body to make…that’
‘So that’s a body made of my old pure energy?’
    ‘Seems that way’
‘Sweet’ I ran over to the body. ‘Finally some of my old power’ I said to myself as I put my hand on its head and crushed it in my hand. The energy few out and I summoned Ganthort, held it over the energy and absorbed it back into my body. My eyes lit up as the ground shook.
‘If he gets all his power back…it just makes me sick thinking that he could be stronger’ Slifer was thinking.
My power was rising at a super rate. The power I once had seeping back into my body but then the rise stopped and the body vanished.
‘The hell?’ Where’s the rest of my power?’ I said.
‘I told you didn’t I. she made that with a fragment of your power. Only about a 20th if I’m right’
‘So there’s still ether nineteen more of those bitches out there or the main thing that’s a hundred times more powerful’
‘Yep. Or she has just kept it in her body meaning were still in danger.’
    ‘God damn it all’
‘Well what’s the plan?’ Bish butted in. I turned to him and folded my arms.
‘I guess we just report this back to Daygon.’ I replied as Mas joined the discussion.
‘Or we just go out looking for her.’ She proposed
‘Way to risky.’ She’s above our level’ I said
‘But you just got your power back. If you’re the legendary Shadanto I have been told about with your old power back she is nothing.’ I looked at her and raised an eyebrow.
‘Don’t you get it? That was but a small fragment of my power. She is still at this time way above our level.’ Mas looked down and sighed.
‘Well ok I’ll keep it down. Still what bout our walk?’
    ‘Your walk?’ Slifer butted in.
‘Yeah we were going to go for a walk before this little problem came up’ I replied as Bish sniggered. ‘What?’
‘You got your self a girl Shad?’
‘What! No no no just a friendly walk.’
    ‘Yeah right.’ Pathinne added.
‘The hell are you all teaming up on me for?’
‘Because we can.’ They all said together before bursting out laughing. Mas turned to everyone.
‘You got a problem with this?’ She said as she put one hand on her hip.
‘No not at all.’ Bish sniggered out.
‘Good.’ She said in a happy voice as she turned around and grabbed my hand and started walking off pulling me along with her. Slifer just stared in amassment at the scene.
‘Umm what the hell just happened?’ he asked Bish
‘Looks like things are getting interesting.’ He replied as he walked towards the city.

Chapter VI: The past is not forgotten. Slifers darkness.

Slifer and Pathinne entered the city as the clouds started to disperse. The sun shone through, warming the streets.
‘We seem to always have fights don’t we?’ Pathinne asked Slifer. ‘Wish we could just sit about or live normal human lives.’
‘I quite like it. The adrenalin rush, speed of the combat and sweet taste of victory! I love the way we live.’ He replied.
‘Wouldn’t you like to just…let it all go? Live a calm life?’
‘Not really. I wouldn’t know what to do. Fighting is what I do and what I enjoy.’ Pathinne sighed.
‘I would like to live a normal life.’ Slifer put his finger on her lips and kissed her.
‘You know without this life style we would have no reason to live and with out you I would have no reason to carry on.’ Pathinne smiled.
    ‘Ok…you win’
On the other side of the city Bish was walking through the forest towards the council chambers to do some research on Halaso’s last known position.
‘There’s something not right about all of this. Why of all times does she send a fragment to fight us? Even more she must have known we would be able to take it down.’ He said to himself.
‘If I can find out where she is then I can keep a close eye on her and warn the team of any oncoming attacks.’ He added as a beam of sun broke through the clouds and shone down on him. He looked up with his hand blocking the sun. ‘Such a wonderful place we live.’ He whispered as he carried on towards the chambers.
‘Aw come on.’ Mas said to me.
‘No way! Its mine and no one else has been able to hold it with out getting burnt.’ I snapped. Mas had the idea she could have a little play with Ganthort but with it been directly powered by my energy not even Slifer can use it for to long before losing his hand.
‘Come on. Just one tryout?’ she begged.
‘I’m sorry. It’s no normal soul eater. With it been the first ever made its channeled directly through me. It will do serious damage to you if you hold it.’
‘That Halaso girl was using its twin.’
‘Yeah well that’s because…well I was very strongly connected to her in the past so she could weald it for a short time but after stealing my power she could use Thornins.’
‘Wow and even after loving her in the past you can fight her like that?’
‘Well let’s say she did a lot to hurt me and everyone else close to me.’
‘Why?’ I looked up at the sky and clenched my fist
‘I was the first to use a soul eater. The power gave me supreme strength and I was once one of the few that could over power the council. She knew this and faked feelings to get close to me. Then she stole my power through her soul eater and took Thornins.’
‘Not a nice past then.’ Mas said as she swung Ganthort around.
‘No but with out the past…Hey!’ I shouted as I pointed at my blade. ‘What did I say about that?’
‘That it would damage me if I used it’ I looked her up and down.
‘Why…why is Ganthort not affecting you?’ I asked confused.
    ‘Maybe because I’m just ace’
‘Or maybe because you walked away again.’ Soul’s voice echoed out. I looked up to see him in mid air. ‘Come on mas. Back we go.’ He added
    ‘Do I have to?’
    ‘Yes’
‘Hey!’ I butted in. ‘What business do you have controlling her?’
‘Councils orders not mine. Got a problem bring it up with them. You won’t get far though. She’ basically top secret information.’ I looked to Mas and back to Soul.
‘So there’s more to her than meets the eye?’
‘What meets your eyes anyway. Mas, we leave now.’ He finished saying as grabbing her arm and taking off. I got down on one knee and jumped as fast as I could sending myself flying towards them.
‘Hey don’t leave me on a cliff hanger.’ I shouted as I spared my wings and dashed after soul.
‘To the council Shad. Only there will you find the answers.’ He shouted back as he spun and shot a small crackling ball towards me. I swung my hand at it to knock it away but as soon as it touched me it paralyzed my body.
‘Damn it!’ I yelled as I catapulted towards the ground. I connected just is I regained the ability to move and skimmed across the street. Dragging my hand across the floor and pushing myself back up and onto a wall. I dashed up and jumped from one wall to another until I was high up enough to see them again. I stood on the roof of the building and watched them fly away. Putting my hand in my pocket I pulled out my phone.
‘Bish…get me all information on the grim angel Mas.’
Deep under the council chambers Slifer was training. He had ordered that three highly powerful grim angels were to fight him. A young grim angel Balthazar who uses more modern weapons as his soul eaters. Normally two hand pistols and an energy cannon he can summon at will. He had a similar get up as my team. A black shirt, baggy black jeans with a chain on the left side and steel toecap boots. His hair was long, brown and parted down the center, very curly. His coat hid the bottom half of his mouth when fully sealed. The two other grim angels were already down for the count and Slifer pointed at Balthazar.
    ‘Now Balthazar it…’
    ‘Call me Zar.’ He interrupted
‘Ok Zar. Its you turn now.’ Zar smiled as Slifer grinned and vanished. Zar shut his eyes and pulled out one of his guns and spinning around, blocking Slifers blow with the barrel and taking a shot that connected with Slifers left ear.
‘The hell.’ He said as he jumped back and held his ear. ‘Damn you.’ He said. Green energy shone around Slifers hand and he touched his ear once more healing himself.
‘Going to try this time.’ Zar said as he pulled out his second gun and pointed them at Slifer.
‘Best using a different form soul eater for this.’ He said to himself as the lance vanished to be replaced by two smaller and red imitations of my own Ganthort. The shot from Zar was fired as Slifer spun the swords so the blades were facing behind him before putting his arms out in front blocking the shots . Sparks flew all around as the first gun ran out of ammo. Slifer side stepped as Zar threw a fresh magazine of ammo into the air. Slifer ran forward knocking the shots of the second gun away with the blades. He got close and sliced with the right blade. Zar blocked this with his empty gun as Slifer spun the second around and thrust the point towards Zar. He flipped over the blocked blade and ejected the empty magazine in mid spin. He landed and threw the gun up perfectly aiming so the full magazine would go in and shooting two more shots he caught the fully loaded gun and continued the assault. Minutes past as Slifer knocked away and dodged bullets until he hit the back wall.
‘Damn!’ he shouted as Zar as quick as the eye could catch put his pistols back into there holders and pulled his high caliber gun which seemed to be attached to his back under his coat. He moved his legs apart and took a shot. Slifer ducked just in time as the bullet flew past his leavening a perfect hole in the wall.
Slifer turned face Zar. The guns power had even knocked him backwards a bit. He took a quick look around to check no one was still here.
‘Hey kid. Lets finish this’ He said as he summoned the lance only this time it was different. Darkness seeped from it like steam. The same was happening to Slifer. Then as if he was every ware in the room at once Slifer appeared behind Balthazar and elbowed him in the spine.
‘Gravity dimension’ He whispered as the room turned black. Gravity was removed and Zar was left helpless in mid air. Slifer on the other hand stood firmly on the floor under him.
‘Best not to mess with me.’ He said as he raised his hand and slowly started to close it pressuring the small dimension around Zar. The cries of pain were loud and long.
‘Slifer!’ I yelled as I kicked open the door. ‘Let the boy down.’ Slifer looked over at me and clicked back into reality dropping Zar on his head. Slifer turned to him and held his hand out to help him up.
‘Sorry about that.’ He said as he pulled Zar to his feet.
‘Don’t worry about it. I was warned about your short temper.’
    Slifer turned to me.
    ‘Well considering you’re here Shad…’ I smiled.
‘Of course’ I summoned Ganthort just in time to block the first blow. ‘Come on!’ I shouted as I took into the air blocking the lance. Slifer spun under a counter kick and went to ram into my back but I flipped over landing on his head and pushing off. He spun his hand around and blasted me with energy but I landed feet first on the ceiling and pushed off. I un-summoned Ganthort as my hand was glowing red with electricity. Slifer threw his lance to the side and put his palm out.
‘Rage of the dragon’ he shouted as flaming dragon head shot forward followed by a beam of energy.
‘Damnation blow’ I yelled back as I threw my fully charged fist into the head. The room cracked as soon as we connected. These were our strongest moves. We both yelled and pushed more energy in causing another shockwave sending Zar rolling into a wall.
The door smashed open and I looked over. As I saw soul at the door Slifer took my distraction to advantage and pushed more energy forward causing our attacks to explode. I was sent into the ceiling coughing up some blood. As I hit the floor and grabbed my arm. Unlike his attack I had to get a hit in and hitting an energy blast with a fist, energy charged or not, I would always come out worse unless I managed to get through the blast and into my attacker. Slifer dropped his arms to the side and sighed turning to soul.
‘Hey buddy. What brings you back?’
‘Work. And we need you three.’ Zar looked up
    ‘Me as well?’
‘Yes. Seams you have been promoted to Slifers student.’ Slifer looked up in horror and shouted at soul.
‘What? Student! That can’t be right’
‘Well that’s Daygon’s orders. Seams your team has one extra member.’
    I looked up at soul.
‘Did you say all of us? Including you?’
    ‘Yeah. Why?’
‘Well you have refused to work with us for years and now us joining us with out a fight?’
‘Shad this is different. There’s something big coming and we need all the help we can get.’

Chapter VII: Reunion of the old team. Beginning of the end

Soul threw open the doors to the council door. My eyes opened wide. For the first time in countless years the whole council were together in the same room. Daygon, Metogen, Kalo, Borthoniss, Marodith, Sandorass, Haloso, Portindes, Friness and Slipsher all looked down at our team.
‘What is this about?’ I asked
‘There’s something that has just come into this world from hell. One of Dark’s strongest right hand men.’ Metogen replayed
‘That’s insane. There’s no way we can take that down.’ Slifer shouted up at the council.
‘Well you’re the strongest team who’s free at this moment in time so you don’t have a choice.’ Portindes said calmly at Slifer smirking after. Slifer bit his tongue. To toy with a council member meant death but he hated Portindes. Making it even worse Portindes would always mess with Slifer.
‘Where is the target?’ Soul asked as Slifer turned and grabbed him
‘We can’t take this mission it will destroy us all. We don’t stand a chance.’
‘Let go of me Slifer.’ He tightened his grip and pushed soul against the wall.
‘You have to kill it anyway Slifer.’ Kalo said.
    ‘Why me?’
‘Because if someone uses there soul eater to gain the demon’s soul they will gain unrivaled power and you’re the hand to hand master.’ She added winking at him as Pathinne threw her an evil look. Kalo and Pathinne had the same relationship as Portindes and Slifer.
Slifer let soul down and turned to the door. ‘Time to pack up and get ready boys. We move out as soon as we can.’ He said as he walked out.
‘Good luck.’ Metogen said as me and Zar exchanged a worried look.
I returned to my room and threw my coat over the chair.
‘Don’t absorb its soul…’ I said to myself as I dropped onto the sofa.
‘You also think Slifer wont listen?’ a voice from my window said.
‘Mas just knock next time’ I said as I got up and let her in.
‘Sorry but I don’t like walking too much.’
‘How can I help you’ I replied pouring a coffee for us both.
‘I would highly recommend keeping your pal Slifer under control. There's a damn good resin the counsel does not what this demons soul absorbed by anybody.’ I took a sip out of my glass and looked up.
‘Slifer seeks power and the quickest way to obtain it is to absorb the power of his fallen foes. If he absorbs this one what's the difference.’
‘The difference is how it will affect him. This demon survives by’
‘In the end I can’t stop him from doing what he wants.’ I interrupted. ‘Maybe you should take it up with him.’ There was a silence as we both drank our coffee. Mas put her cup down and walked to the window.
‘There's going to be another addition to your team for this. He's a computer hacked but makes power amplifiers and restrainers in his spare time. He will help if something unwanted happens.’
‘Another order from the counsel I take it? Those bastards can’t keep a stable team running for s**t.’ Mas giggled and opened the window.
‘We set off in the morning. See you there.’
The next day I entered the meeting room at the counsel to find everyone but Slifer there. The new guy was there as well. He looked just a little younger than me, long strait brown hair and was dressed in baggy black jeans and a black long sleeved top cut at the back for his wings.
    ‘So what's your name?’
‘Adanight’ he replayed folding his arms. ‘I'm not happy with this either so let’s just get this mission over.’
‘Good, I like your attitude.’ I said as turning to everyone. ‘So any word off Slifer?’
‘Not yet. He was around when I was on my here.’ Bish replayed, as there was a knock on the door.
‘No one is meant to disturb mission meeting's.’ Soul said as he stood. The door opened.
‘Sorry to disturb you but I have a message.’ A counsel representative said as he passed Soul a piece of paper. He quickly Scand down before throwing on his coat.
‘Slifer has run ahead the hot headed b*****d. We don’t have time let’s move.’ He said as we all exchanged looks and dashed out of the meeting room.
‘What did I tell you?’ Mas said as I dashed past her to catch up to Soul.
‘Nice start to the mission. Who’s the team leader?’ I asked.
‘I’m going to leave this one to you because after all you have the most experience with Slifer.’ I smiled and turned to the others.
‘Knowing him he will rest about half way there to catch his breath and restore his energy and he normally does this in a bar so any villages we go past search the pubs. Now full speed we don’t have time to waste.’ I ordered as we all took to the sky and vanished from sight and split up. I landed in a small village and hid my wings as I dashed from bar to bar.
‘Damn it nothing.’ I whispered as I took fight and opened my senses. ‘He wouldn’t have sped ahead without resting or he would be...fighting the demon now’ I thought as my speed greatly increased. Soul caught up to my side holding a little machine.
‘Adanight gave me this just in case. I think you know what Slifer’s done don’t you?’ He asked.
‘Rushed ahead just a little too much?’
‘Spot on. So we don’t have time to waste!’ We exchanged looks as energy crackled around us.
‘Full speed then!’ I shouted as we dashed forward setting off a sonic boom. The world around us became a blur as we covered the outlands in seconds and stopping atop a skyscraper just above where Slifer had already knocked the demon to its knees.
‘He’s going to absorb its power.’ Soul said as he got up ready to jump.
‘No! Grab me and throw me as hard as you can!’ I commanded as he shrugged, grabbed my arm and threw me down. ‘Slifer don’t do it!’ I shouted as he thrust his lance down through the demon and drew its power out. He fell to his knees and held his chest before yelling and releasing massive amounts of energy throwing me backwards and disintegrating the buildings and any human life around.
‘Damn he fell into its trap.’ Soul said to himself as he pulled out a mobile phone and flipped it open, putting it to his ear. ‘Slifer fell for the trap Metogen. The demon pretty much lay down and has now been absorbed. Slifer’s power is growing at a rapid rate and if the demon influences his mind it’s going to get very ugly down here.’ He reported before shutting it and jumping to my side.
Slifer looked up at us, his eyes glowing read and his skin burning from inside out leaving black scars as they quickly healed over, his teeth got sharper and he had a crimson aura wrapped around him pulsing energy that was melting the ground underneath him.
‘This doesn’t look good.’ I whispered to Soul
‘He couldn’t take us both on Shad.’
‘Can you not sense that power?’
‘Yes and I have felt better. After all we have been training together since…’ Our convocation was cut short by Slifer dashing in front of Soul faster than anything I had ever seen and crashing his fist into the side of his head catapulting Soul into the ground out cold. I froze in fear shaking.
‘Soul…Soul! Get up!’ I shouted as I took a step towards him. Slifer vanished again with such force the ground under where he was shattered like glass. I jumped back and dashed up the closest building as fast as I could. I landed on the top and turned around looking for him before feeling a cold breath on the back of my neck. Turning I met face to face with a Slifer I had never seen before, looking into his eyes I could see one thing, madness. Before I could think anymore he head butted me through the building so hard I had trouble keeping conciseness. I had never been hit that hard, ever. Turning in the air I managed to land on my feet but that didn’t help. I didn’t even get chance to look up before I felt his foot connect and shatter my ribs. I yelled out in pain as an arrow flew past my head and through Slifer. I looked behind me to see Pathinne.
‘Slifer stop.’ She said holding the bow up at him. I blinked and when my eyes opened again her bow was broken in half, she was out cold, Slifer had her by the throat.
‘No…’ I said to myself getting to my feet.
‘Dam…nation blow’ I shouted as I charged my fist and jumped at Slifer and that’s when I noticed the extent of his new power.
He grabbed my attack with his bare hand, broke my arm back, scratched his claws down my back and got at least three thousand punches in my chest before I even realized he has caught me. Throwing up plenty of blood my body went numb, unable to move, at his mercy. He summoned his lance which was glowing black and pulled it back.
‘Slifer…’ I said as light shone behind him.
‘Put him down.’ Soul shouted. He was holding something in his left hand which was giving off an extremely bright light. Slifer through me to the side and jumped towards Soul. Mas flew under me and grabbed my arm throwing me over her back. I opened my eyes just to see what looked like a bright crystal form in souls hand as there was a clash of energy. Adanight flew past me and threw a small machine next to Slifer which opened up and drew his and souls energy’s into it slowly. Soul jumped back as a two arrows shot Slifer’s feet into the ground. I turned to see Pathinne holding her bow up barely.
‘Mas get them out of here NOW!’ Soul shouted as he pushed the crystal into his soul eater fusing its power into his own. My head dropped, I couldn’t keep focus anymore. Mas dived down and grabbed Pathinne’s arm and took off back to the city closely followed by Adanight. I looked back as Slifer jumped up pulling himself away from the energy drainer and towards soul. He trusted his lance forward as soul did with his sword. The flash from the clash made me shut my eyes but I was too exhausted to re open them. I had lost conciseness.
I awoke with a stat grabbing my chest in pain. I looked around quickly not recognizing where I was. I had bandages socking up the blood from my cuts. My shirt was folded neatly on a chair next to the bed I was in. my body ached in pain but I didn’t care. I tried to get up as the door opened.
‘Moving wouldn’t be the best idea.’ Mas said as she shut the door behind her bringing fresh bandages and a bowl of soup. I looked down.
‘Where’s Slifer?’ I asked as she put the bowl of soup on the chair and the bandages on the bed.
‘Let’s change these.’ she said softly as she stared removing my bandages.
    ‘Where’s Slifer.’
‘You took a berating didn’t you? I’m surprised you awoke so soon.’
    ‘Where…’
‘Let’s tie these ones tight.’ She interrupted as she tied the clean bandages around my chest and down my arms. My eyes were blank as I stared down. All I wanted to know was what happened but I couldn’t talk anymore, not with Mas blanking me out. The door opend and Adanight poked his head in.
‘Pathinne has recovered mostly. Soul has returned aswell so were meeting downstairs in the bar.’ He said to Mas. I turned my head a little to face Adanight.
    ‘Where’s Slifer?’
‘He…we will see you downstairs.’ He replied as he shut the door. I turned to Mas as she stood up and turned around.
‘The road ahead is long Shad. Don’t lose sight of what matters.’ She mumbled before leavening me alone.
I couldn’t move, I was frozen in confusion. Where was Slifer? I couldn’t sense his spirit and why did Soul have the shard? That was meant to be missing along with the other one. How did he get a hold of the last remnant of Holy’s blade from the war and if he had that did it mean he also had the last shard of Dark’s weapon, the hell shard? If so he could become the next god. All these things that were not meant to happen at all just piled into my mind at once. I shook my head and stood up throwing on my top and then something else hit me. I turned and felt my back manically. My wing’s were gone, tore off. When? I though back to the fight. Slifer had scratched down my back. Was this when I lost my wings? When ever it was this hit me almost as much as everything else. The feeling of freedom of flight ripped away from me by none other than the man I saw as my brother. I sighed and threw my coat over the top of everything and walked out of the room. From what I could make out we had all made our way back to a bar a few miles away from the city we encountered Slifer in. the walls were murky and cover in mold and there was the smell of liquor all around. Obviously we were in a rundown out of the way place. I walked down the stares and looked around the bar; there were tables with one or two guys on each drinking and smoking. I looked to the far right corner where the team had all sat down, Soul in the middle.
‘Come and sit.’ He said to me pointing at the seat opposite him. I pulled it back and sat down looking at soul.
    ‘Where is he?’ I asked
‘The demon has taken over his mind completely. He has become infused with its power mixed with his own. Even though I believe he’s still there, Slifer is losing the battle inside him.’
‘That still doesn’t answer where he is.’ Pathinne butted in.
‘Using…a power only I posses I managed to temporarily freeze him in a time warp. Now this won’t last for long and I don’t think any of us at our current level can stop his new power.’
‘You mean the shard of holy’s weapon?’ I said looking right at him.
‘Yes. I have had it for some time, researching the effects it has on soul eaters. It seems to temporarily give it amazing powers at the cost of immense pain to the user.’
‘And the dark shard?’ Adanight asked.
‘It seamed to my disappointment that the demon Slifer now has taking over his body is the dark shard.’
‘The two shards are on earth. One owned by soul and one taking over Slifer. Does anybody else find this strange?’ Bish asked.
    ‘In what way?’ Mas pondered.
‘The two weapons used by Holy and Dark are back on earth and with the increase of demon activity. Guys were looking at a second war here.’
Everyone fell quite at this thought. The smoke in the room passing visibly over the table as a group of bulky looking men walked out.
‘Ok first things first.’ Mas stood up. ‘We figure out a way to get Slifer back then get the grim angels ready for the next war.’ She added punching one hand with a smile on her face as if saying she was ready for action.
‘We have not the power to fight him.’ I replied leaning back on the chair.
‘So you would think. There’s a shot but it’s a long one.’ Bish added.
‘Which is?’ Pathinne sighed out not believing.
‘Halaso. If we beet her and Shad gets his old powers back we might have the power to beet Slifer back and see what we can do about that demon.’
‘No one knows where she is.’ I muttered.
‘You know that demon I got the multiple body ability off? Well there are currently 300 of ‘me’ flying around and as soon as one spots her I will know. It’s just a matter of time.’
‘And you think Daygon is just going to let us go with this plan. Hate to burst your bubble but as long as he is in charge were not going to get very far.’ I argued back. Bish just looked at me and smiled.
‘We leave at noon. By the time we get back everything will have changed.’
