I'm sitting on the hood of your car, a blue 2004 Toyota corolla. We're in front of a seven eleven, sharing earbuds together. It's a summer evening back in 2008, before I moved across the country. We were listening to "Rainbow Veins" by owl city on your Zune. To this day that song always reminds me of you. You were two years older than me if I recall correctly. I was only sixteen at the time. This was one of our "dates". You never really did asked me out, we kinda just ran with it.

You were the photographer for our high school's paper. You'd geek out to me about all the different types of lenses and different types of shots. I adored that even though I knew nothing of cameras. When you graduate you said you wanted to go to study film and actually make moving images. I still have that polaroid of us which you signed with the words "forever" with a silver sharpie.

We met through a common friend. I had just played in the school's talent show with my ukulele. Preformed a cover of Elvis' "Can't Help Falling In Love", it was kinda embarrassing now that I think about it. I wanted to know if anyone had footage or videos at least. My best friend at the time Chelsea, introduced me to you. It was awkward at first but you gave me the pictures including your aim screen name. I remember chatting on that with you for hours.

You were my first, and I even remembered making "films" with you. I was adventurous, if thats the right word for it, back then. We'd "dance" in the back of your car, in the school library, to name a few places that I can remember. We even snuck out of your prom to have fun in the roof. I often wonder if you still watch those films we made. Hopefully you destroyed them by now because having that in your possession is a criminal offense because I was a minor at the time. An incredibly dumb minor to say at least.

You graduated and left that small town and went to UCLA in Cali. You'd told me that you'd come visit me for the summers and that when I graduate I should go to Cali and live with you. My parents never knew of you, and my family left Ohio and relocated to D.C. before I graduated. I never told Chelsea I was leaving either, didn't really tell anyone except the school cause they had to know in order to transfer my records.

I often day dream about taking a plane ticket and going back to that small town of Lexington, starting a quest to find you. That's probably never gonna happen though. So thank you for being a part of my life.
