The Weekly Rant XCI -Fashion victims
Can anyone tell me why it is that people who look like they raided a celebrity's closet are any better than people who look like they raided an ordinary closet? I don't see how a certain pair of pants can make you any bit less inferior to the guy who sold his pants for booze money.

Somehow, some deeply intelligent people have got it into their squishy, brain-filled heads that how you look reflects your personality and worth as a human being. What they forgot is that this is based pretty much on bulls#%t, being that a dirty, half naked hobo may simply be a good man down on his luck and up on his liquor intake. If I took a rich t$%t, stuck him on a pole next to an ordinary t#%t and had both dressd in whatever the latest issue of I-really-need-to-waste-money monthly says is "in style", would they be equally "good" as people? What if I then put an ugly old pilot hat on one of their heads and set the other one on fire? Now the only difference is that one looks like a rich man that flies planes and one is a pile of ashes that probobly went to hell for things he did with his housemaid when the wife wasn't home but the news team was.

People don't always dress to show their personalities, ever seen a funeral? Would you say they're all "emo" because they're in black? Oh, sure, you could say "they're all in black because they're mourning, that's an emotional thing." There's always the chance that the deceased wasn't such a good guy or that the attenders of said funeral aren't such good people. It may have been some rich t@#t that burned alive during a demonstration of how meaningless fashion is and now his relatives are internally jumping for joy at the oodles of cash they've inherited, you really think no one at that funeral would be the slightest bit happy? Truth be told, people don't always dress to reflect themselves, I don't dress like a serial killer. (ignore my avi)

Fashion doesn't seem like a meaningful thing to keep up with anyway, doesn't it seem odd that the world has to stop and check the newest issue of I.R.N.T.W.M.M. in order to know what to do next? The whole "in style" thing is pretty much based on some french dolt that says "because I say so" and everyone just rolling with it.

BOTTOM LINE: Clothing is to cover our soft flesh and keep us warm, not to be a made a contest of worthiness by rich mary-andrews.

That's this week's rant, formerly known as Varmeip, Goodnight.
