If you've been paying attention to the car insurance commercials, you've probobly noticed the far from subtle changes over time, like the gecko going from a diminutive citizen asking not to be confused with the company to being the english-accented represenative, to being the quarry for some sick documentary.
Dumber than the two-faced lizard, there's that stupid wad of cash stalker thing. Are they just running out of ideas?
"ya know, fellas, I don't think the gecko is working anymore."
"yea, we better think of something clever to keep up with E-surance's bulls$%t"
"I've got it, people like money, let's put googly eyes on a few bills and make it look like a stalker with the same f#$%ing background music every time it's pointed out!"
I think that's how it happened.
BOTTOM LINE: Geico's advertising strategy doesn't seem very well thought out.
