I'm going to assume you know what make up is, I'm not, however going to assume you know what it's for, being that I certianly don't. That's not to say you couldn't know, but I'm a little confused as to it's purpose.

Women wear make up to look prettier and attract men, as far as I know. I'm not sure why they'd think this helps, being that makeup is pretty much invisible unless it's applied heavily and makes them look like clown prostitutes, but I digress. Unless I'm mistaken, (and that seems to be often with these things) Make up is worn in a very thin layer that can barely be seen without intnetly staring at it, so it may as well not be there at all. Why do it? Discoloring your face is just plain silly, hence the popularity of it among mentally unstable circus performers that ride around in small cars you could probobly film and title "rat race" for laughs.

There are also males that paint their faces for reasons besides camoflague; goths. Both goth males and females seem to know what they want to look like with the black and white kabuki face paint, black clothing with little metal things attached, dark hair dye, and questionable peircings, (I.E., a corpse put through a serial killer's washing machine) but I don't get why the insane cosmetics are needed, why not wear a mask? Wouldn't that be easier than applying a bucket's worth of paint on your face every day? I don't get the plain white ghoul face paint either, couldn't you be pale by just staying out of the sun? Wouldn't that show more commitment to your dark whatever it is?

There are also the warriors of ye olden days in various cultures that wore face paint to frighten the enemy. Native americans were known to have paint sometimes all over thier bodies, either as war marks or camoflague. And that makes sense.

Finally, there are the aforementioned clowns. I have no complaints about clowns and their make up because they're supposed to look ridiculous, good show. mrgreen

BOTTOM LINE: Make up is a lie you wear on your face, a lie that these days is best left to clowns and raving lunatics.
