Welcome to the darkside...
The Weekly Rant LXXXIV - Name-first authors
Have you ever read a book? Have you ever looked at the cover of one? On said cover did you notice the title of the book and the author's name? You know how the title is usually the part in bold print? Have you ever seen the author's name in the big letters? You know why I'm asking all these rhetorical questions? Mostly, it's because The guys that make their name the first part of their book you see really piss me off.

Why, specificly, is that it seems like they're just advertising themselves, saying "hey! look! I wrote this! am I special now?" stamping on a bit of a hint as to what the book is about in the form of a title. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't people read books because they want to read the book not the name of some self-important tosser? If someone wanted to know who wrote the literary genius, (or tripe, depending on your taste) they'd look at the little name on the front.

Think about it, you (well, maybe not you if you don't like reading,(which you're doing now) but someone intelligent enough to pick up a book and stick with it) read a book you find to be a good read, while describing the literary gold to your savant friends, you mix up the title which was written in faint brown for the author's name which was in mega-f@$k-ton gold font and go around telling people to read a person.

I'm noy saying that putting your name in big letters means you're a self-important tard, I just think the title of the book is what should get top billing.

BOTTOM LINE: Unless it's an autobiography, author's names go on the who-really-gives-a-damn part of the cover.

That's this week's Rant, I'm Varmeip, Goodnight.
