Can someone explain to me how team spirit works? From a logical point of view, it doesn't make any sense. You, one person, are supposed to cheer and shout when your team does pretty much anything simply because that's your team, correct? I think I messed something, how do we grow fondness for certain groups of people and distain for others when the only differences are name and shirt color?

If you're ON a team and actually a part of it, (good for you, by the way, you're doing something and making things happen, unless you're like the towel boy, you loser, harheeharheehar) you look much less retarded for being enthusiastic than the screaming fans that worship you for being part of something they just look at in awe, mouths filled to the brim with idiocy-infected drool.

I don't understand how people become so deeply attatched to people in one color uniform and so loathing of another. Is it because they are the closest team to your home, "root for the home team" and all that rubbish? Is it because green and yellow are your favorite colors and only one team wears them in the style you find suitable? Is it because you like the name? Was it a friend or relative that said "you like these guys now, got it?"? Was it peer pressure? Is it because you're a brainless, robotic puppet that can only walk if someone nearby urges you to? Well, whatever your reason, to be so deeply, insanely in love with a team, especially one you're not part of or you're just a screaming represenative for, doesn't add up. What does your team really do differently than others to make it special?

Some teams are formed and cherished simply because they go by a certain name, like at pep rallies it's freshmen sophomores, juiors, ect.
WARNING: this part will confuse the dim and perhaps make their heads explode, and it will be awesome.
The people in the sophomore class were in the freshmen class the year before, both years they scream at the top of their wretched lungs that their team is better. Did you catch that? They love thier team purely because they are on it. Team spirit? I prefer to call it ego-centric retardation, but whatever works...

BOTTOM LINE: To be crazy about your team only makes a little sense if you're ON THAT TEAM. Stupid fans.
