Even though I usually type about how much I hate something and why, this week, I'm actually praising something; probobly my favorite cartoon, "Courage the cowardly dog".

This show is awesome, it's about a little pink dog that was found as a puppy by a kind hearted old lady and her miserly, senile husband; muriel and eustace bagg. They live in a litle house in the middle of nowhere, a desert town in the center of kansas, where, for some reason, hell seems to stick out of the earth, there's ALWAYS something evil lurking, from crazy salesmen, zombie directors, aliens, demons, ghosts, and stuff they see traveling, this show is insane. Whatever attacks, courage, the ironically named protagonist, comes to the rescue.

Now for why I actually like the show; it's the wierd brand of simple comedy it uses. The timing, lines, and the way they say some things is hilarious, for example:
Muriel:"I heard the door slam."
Eustace:"the door slammed."
Muriel: "oh."
simple comedic genius.
The images are well drawn and highly detailed in some points to make the monsters scary, really scary. I actually had nightmares from watching this when I was younger, a cartoon for CHILDREN. And it's still awesome. Unlike more modern cartoons, there is no obsession with flatulance here, just psychotic mayhem. Also, the reactions to the monsters are (if not screaming) absolutley hilarious. Example:
*a large tower on wheels with a cannon moves toward the house*
Eustace:"that's it! IIIIIII'm gettin' me mallet!"
There are plenty of reappearing characters in some episodes that olny add to the madness, like an indian doctor that seems to be a broken record, a very strange chinese guy, shirley the gypsy, and even reappearing villians like le quack, katz, a chicken form outer space, the zombie movie director, and a few others. You'd have to see a few episodes yourself to know what I mean.

BOTTOM LINE: Courage the cowardly dog is an awesome cartoon and beats scooby doo anyday... stupid dog!
