Chapter 2, I'm a what, now?
"In later news today, A Semi truck was totaled, and no ones knows how, not even the driver. The front appears to be crushed in, and luckily no one appears to be hurt. The driver had this to say."
In a mansion, a little more then three miles away from the scene, a T.V. was turned off, as an old man on an easy chair set the remote down on a table next to him.
There were stones everywhere. You don't think..." he said to himself, pausing to stroke his long white beard. He got up from the chair, and headed twords the kitchen. He wanted a sandwhich. A door closed to the entrence of the mansion, as a voice called out,
"Grandpa? I'm home!"
"In the kitchen, Jacob. Would you like a sandwhich?" the old man asked pleasently, holding it out to the young boy as he entered the kitchen. Jacob gratefully took the plate, and set it on the counter. He looked at his Grandpa, who he had known all his life.
Shizu Abamo was seventy four, but looked sixty. His hair had turned snow white, and so had his beard. But age had not stopped him from doing what he liked most, and passing it on to his children and his grandchildren. Martial Arts. Though small in size, he was a fierce fighter, and hadn't lost a fight in over fifty years, and no one challenged him. Not even younger people.
"Grandpa, I need to talk to you." Jacob said nervously. He trusted his Grandpa, and told him everything, but this was just weird. He wasn't even sure he wanted to tell his Grandfather.
"Just a minute, Jacob. Do you know anything about this?" Shizu asked, turning on the T.V. They were still talking about the damaged Semi on the news, the view from a helicopter.
"Tha...thats what I wanted to talk to you about" Jacob stuttered, staring at the scene. I didn't know I caused so much damage. He said to himself, scared. Where he knew he stood, there was a crater, twice the size of his body. The truck stopped just outside the crater, and thats where the damage began. He explained all that happened to him to his Grandfather, from practice on.
"And then the words "Stone Body" came to mind, and Grandpa, I was covered in stones! All over my body!" He told him, waving his arms around for emphasis.
Shizu could not contain his glee. "Jacob, my boy, you are ready! You are now a Guardian!" He cried happily, grabbing Jacobs hand and wringing it.
"I'm a what now?" Jacob asked, confused.
"A Guardian! A protecter of Earth and it's people! Like your forfamily before you, you command a mighty Eement, the Element of Earth!" Shizuk exclaimed, literally jumping for joy.
Jacob stared at his Grandfather, who had obviously gone senile. "That's great, Grandpa. Now where are the hidden camera's so we can get this joke over with." He asked boredly.
"Joke? This is no joke! I am being serious." Shizu huffed.
"Uh huh. Well. I'm off to bed then. Maybe I'll wake up, and I'll find this was all a big nightmare." Jacob said, turning around and began walking up the stairs. Out of nowhere, a small rock flew and hit Jacob in the back of the head.
"What was that for!" He roared, turning around to face his Grandfather, and was met with a sight he could not believe. Floating in a circle in front of his Grandpa, were seven stones of varing size.
"Still think its a dream?" Shizu asked his grandchild, as another rock shot off twords Jacob. The many years of Martial Arts Jacob had been taught kicked in, and he grabbed the rock and crushed it before it could hit him. Still in a daze, he gazed at his Grandpa.
"But...how..." he asked, looking at the crushed rock in his hands.
"Your powers." Shizu told him with a small smile.
"Grandpa. It's not that I don't believe you, but its just so...." Jacob struggled for a word,
"Incredious?" Shizu chuckled, "I know. I asked my father the same question."
"Exactly! It passes down from generation right?" Jacob asked, and Shizu nodded, "Then what about dad? Does he have it?"
Shizu's head dropped. "Regrettably, it wasn't passed onto your father. That may be the reason your powers have taken so long manifest themselves."
"Oh." Jacob said lamely. His father was a Judge for the High Court, and brought home a lot of money. He was a very fair man, and Jacob loved him dearly. He now felt sort of sorry for the man. "I think I'll go to bed." He said, going up the stairs again slowly.
"All right. You need it." Shizu told him.
"Wait. Can I tell anyone?" Jacob asked, thinking of Kelly, Aisha and Becky, his friends. Even though he met them last year, they had grown really close, and he told them everything.
"Tell whoever you want. Just remember, will they like you for you, or your powers?" He asked cryptically.
Nodding, Jacob headed up the stairs to his room, and went to sleep.
All right. A little more insight to Jacob's newfound powers! Oh, Shizu is based off of Shizukie. The two are a lot alike. Have fun!
