Chapter 14, From A Different Point of View



“So what is the point of this again?” Becky asked, her eyes twitching slightly as she held Jacob’s staff in her hands.

“To become more diverse.” Shizu barked at the dark haired girl.

“All right, all right. Sheesh.” Becky groaned.

The four Guardians stood in front of Shizu, holding each others weapons. Becky held Jacob’s staff, Jacob held Aisha sword, Aisha held Kelly’s scythe, and Kelly had Becky’s gun.

“There may come a point to where something will happen, and you will not be in command or able to summon your weapons. It is good to be able to use what you can as a weapon, and this will help you start that training.” He explained.

“But Grandpa, I know how to use all kinds of weapons.” Jacob reminded him.

“I knew you would say that.” Shizu said with a smirk.

“True, Jacob, you do know how to use many types of weapons. I made sure you would. But with each others weapons, you’ll be able to do something you can’t with a normal one.”

“Such as?” Aisha asked.

“Focus your powers into each others weapons. You shall see what I’m talking about.” He said with a small smile.

No one said anything else, but fell silent. Then the weapons in everyone’s hands began to glow a different color. The staff began to glow flame red, the gun powder blue, the chain scythe pure white, and the sword a rich green.

The weapons in their new users hands took on a shapeless form, before they were transformed into their new forms.

The staff Becky was holding held its general shape, but at the top, a bright red ruby, as red as the sun was atop the staff, parts of the wood folding around it.

In Aisha’s hands, the chain attached to the scythe disappeared, and the handle shortened until it was only a foot long, but the sickle of the blade becoming longer.

Kelly held her new weapon, a machine gun with interest. It was longer then Becky’s handgun, and sleeker as well.

The sword Jacob held grew longer and thicker, becoming almost twice Jacob’s height. It then became thicker then twice his arm. A two handed sword of massive proportions.

“Oh this is so cool!” Kelly said, checking the gun over and smiling. Jacob nodded, testing the large sword by swinging it a few times. Becky tossed the staff into the air, watching the ruby intently as it spun. Aisha looked at her small hand scythe, slightly disappointed. Until she swung it dejectedly and it let loose a turrent of air that sliced through the ground.

“Jesus! You almost hit me!” Jacob said, after jumping back from Aisha’s slice.

“Well. Someone’s getting a jump on the gun, so to speak.” Shizu said with a laugh. “Today, your going to fight a four way battle against each other, using each other’s weapons.”

“All right.” Jake said with a smirk, tossing the sword into the air. “This’ll be fun.”

“Begin!”

Immediately, Jake caught the sword and slashed at Becky. The earth split where he slashed and headed at the girl. She was forced to dive out of the way. Aisha slashed at Kelly, sending torrents of air at her as Kelly retaliated with machine gun fire that froze whatever it hit.

Becky slammed the staff on the ground, summoning a wall of fire which she directed at Aisha. Jacob leapt high into the air, aiming his sword at Kelly. Kelly rolled out of the way and pointed the gun at Jake, and firing. Jake blocked the bullets with the broad side of the sword and sent a shockwave of earth at the young girl.

Kelly was off on her snow board, dodging spikes of metal and earth that ripped their selves out of the ground. A particularly large one erupted in front of her, and she slid up the spike and into the air. Suddenly, she was berated by torrents of fire, earth and wind, each flying near her as Becky, Jacob and Aisha attempted to take down Kelly.

Kelly aimed her board at the trio, and slowly began to spin in the air, ejecting ice from her board. It made a large shield-like appearance, that forced their attacks to glance off her shield. Then she slowed her ascent, and began to fall. As she feel, the center of the ice shield began to thicken and elongate, creating a giant spike.

Aisha and Becky leapt out of the way, but Jacob held his ground. He slammed the sword into the ground and dug his feet deep into the earth. Kelly and Jacob’s eyes met, and they smiled as their game of Chicken progressed. Kelly raced twords the ground, getting feet away from the boy until Jacob’s hands shot up and gripped the ice, stopping the girl full force. With a grunt, he slowed it down and held it up.

Suddenly, the ice shattered and Kelly was behind Jacob, the gun pointed at his head as she fired. Jacob ducked and grabbed the sword, swinging it at the girls legs. Kelly jumped and landed on the blade. Jacob swung it over his head and into the ground, Kelly jumping off right before it made contact.

Jacob spun around, swinging the sword until it made contact with the staff. Becky stood there, grinning as the staff was engulfed in flame. Jacob fed power to the sword, making it encased in stone. Jake lept back from the girl, as Becky began to spin the staff, creating a ring of flame. He raised a wall of stone as Becky shot the ring at the boy. The elements of fire and earth collided, sending showers of rocks and flame everywhere.

“All right. Enough.” Shizu said, standing in between the group and slamming his own staff into the ground. All four of them immediately stopped what they were doing, lowering their weapons.

“I’m suprised. That was very good. You handled the change of weapons expertly. Eventually, we’ll practice with all of the different weapons, seeing how you take your hold on them.”

“You are dismissed for the day.”

Before “day” was even out of Shizu’s mouth, the group was gone from the training grounds, leaving a large cloud of dust in their wake.

Bah, this chapter took too long to write and whats worse, it was short! Still, you got an insight to what the Guardian's weapons can really do, and eventually, you'll find out more of the vast secrets they hold!

Still, the next chapter will be longer, and hopefully wont take as long, since its planned, and this one was all spur-of-the-moment!
