All right! Here it is, Chapter One, Awakening!


"Oh man, I hate this," Jacob grumbled, walking down the street, "I'm too tired."

Jacob Hess walked down the street, heading twords his house. He walked down the sidewalk, watching cars go by, as he passed shops and resturants. He groaned, stretching his back.

"Four hours of football practice, and a lovely three mile walk home. This is just lovely" He said darkly. Jacob was a football player at his Highschool, and at Fifteen years of age, He was one, if not the, largest kids on the team. He readjusted his backpack, and walked over to a crosswalk. He took a swig of water from his bottle, and pressed a button on the crosswalk pole.

The lights turned red, and the crosswalk symbol that told him he could walk lit up. Jacob walked across the street, going to the other side. Halfway there, he knew something was wrong. A Semi truck was roaring at him, going at top speed, with no sign of slowing down. Jacob tried to run across the street, but his body was frozen. As the truck got closer, his mind screamed at his body.

"RUN YOU IDIOT! GET OUT OF THE WAY!" It screamed, but Jacob still couldn't move. Terror over came him. The truck was mere feet away, when two words came to his mind. Unconscioulsy, he shouted them aloud.

"STONE BODY!" He screamed. He didn't know why he said it, he just felt like he should. Suddenly, his body became heavy, as if it were incase in...stone! His hands and feet and every surface of his body was incased in rich, brown stones, large and small.

The truck rammed into him, but Jacob didn't move an inch. The body of the truck rippled from the impact, and came to a stuttering halt. The driver got out of the truck.

"Are you all right!?!?" He shouted to Jacob. But he was already gone, running down the street twords his house. He found an alley, and ducked into it. He looked at his shaking hands, examining the little bit of dust and grit on them.

"What am I?"
