Intercepted through the darkness
Resounded a muffled cry
Fleeing from its captors
Three steps left to try
With two steps in color
An imminent change
Let me make this up for you
Hide your shame
For boys will be boys
And girls will still be girls
These changes misguide you
With hopes that you'll fail
Smoky - your eyes
Hidden beneath the veil
Silver; your mood
With nothing left to tell
Beneath thick eyelashes
You think nobody cares
But I'll tell you to cherish-
-moments insanity bare
You're gorgeous darling
But the kohl won't always hide your eyes
So keep your secrets
Not those deceptions and lies.

- Oh. My. God. So. Pretty. Admittedly, I don't always follow what you're saying, but your stuff is such a pleasure to read anyways! I liked the second half of the poem better, especially the line about "kohl won't always hide your eyes". And sometimes the rhyming seemed a little off, mentally. But other than that, very powerful and lovely to read.
