• Alot of people say the world is a cruel place. That innocent people die, while the guilty go free. When children die of starvation, and others throw food away. Countries raveged by war and disasters. Racism and sexism still exist today.
Yes, there are problems with the world. But while there is so much hate, there is also so much beauty in the world. Many people will disagree with me, but I feel that beauty is all around us. To the grass under our feet to the sky above our heads. I won't lecture you. Telling you to look after the planet, that littering and driving will kill the earth. I have no right to tel you how to live your lives. All I want is for you to see the beauty of the world.
I've heard before that while some people can see the true beauty of earth from the moment they open their eyes, others must confront their own mortality before they see. I was the latter. I always thought the world was cruel. I had seen so much hate in the world I couldn't stand it. My brother was killed in a car accident whe he was seven. After that moment I gave up hope in the world.
Now I face my mortality. Three years ago I was told I had Leukimia and that I would die. They put me on kemo but recently I've been told that it's starting to help less and less. If I dont improve by october I'll be taken off.
Ever since I was told I was going to die, my outlook changed dramaticaly. I realised how lucky I am for every seconed of my life, and how I never saw where the true beauty of the world lay. In its people. The docters and nurses devoting their lives to save others. The people who go to third world countries to help those dying of starvation. The men and women who help the homeless on our streets. They are what make this world what it is.

I'm telling you all this so that you realise that while there is trouble in the world, there is beauty in that there is always someone who will help.
