• The Knock That Changed Everything

    Mai-chan and Mari-chan were always fighting over many things. They always start non-sense quarrels. But one day…

    “Nee-chan, do you like Nino-kun?” Mari-chan asked.

    “Yes.”

    “Eh?”

    “Why, he’s cute and adorable.” Mai-chan demanded.

    “Demo, he’s my ichiban. I like him so much.”

    “Naniii???!!!!!”

    “Eh? You don’t remember?” Mari-chan asked being confused.

    “You didn’t tell me!” Mai-chan shouted.

    “I already told you!”

    “No, you didn’t.”

    “Yes, I did.”

    “Did not.”

    “I did.”

    “Did not!”

    “I did!”

    “Fine, I hate you.” Mai-chan finally stopped.

    “Whatever. Hate you too.” Mari-chan replied.

    They stopped arguing, but didn’t talked to each other. They didn’t know, they soon fell asleep with the anger in their minds. (That’s what I always do when Nee-chan and I fought.)

    After a while, the two were awakened by a knock on the door.

    *knock, knock, knock*

    “Who might it be?” Mari-chan asked as she went towards the door and she opened it…
    “SURPRISE!!” someone suprised Mari-chan.

    Mai-chan called on to Mari-chan, “Ne~, who was it?”

    No one answered. She had no choice but to see what happened. As she went there, she saw Mari-chan standing steadily, not moving anything. She also saw a man standing beside her imouto-chan, smiling.

    “Doumo! Ninomiya Kazunari desu!” he said.

    Mai-chan pulled towards herself Mari-chan and pinched her and she (Mari-chan) pinched back.(Haha, I recovered fast from being in shocked mode! biggrin )

    “Um-belie-ba-bo~!!” (This is how Takako pronounced ‘unbelievable’ in Yamda Tarou Monogatari.)

    The two girls hurried fast towards the living room and panickly arranged the chairs so that Ninomiya-san (to be respectful to him because we are in panic mode) can sit down. After arranging the chairs, the two went to the kitchen. Mari-chan cooked a srambled egg to make an egg sandwhich (it’s the simplest and easiest and fastest to make), while Mai-chan made some iced tea. They served it together to Ninomiya-san.

    “H-Hai. D-Douzo.” Mai-chan shakingly put the glass of iced tea on the table.

    “Goyoukuri douzo.” Mari-chan put the plate of egg sandwhich on the table with bowed head, not looking at his eyes.

    “Ja.. Itadakimasu.” Ninomiya-san said.

    “Hai.” The two girls whipered quietly.

    As Ninomya-san took a bite from the sandwhich, Mari-chan’s heart was beating very fast.

    “Chou kawaii~ Dou shiyou? I can’t stare at him at all.” Mari-chan thought.

    “Sou ka… So that’s why Mari liked him so much. He’s too cute to stare at.” Mai-chan also thought.

    “Ano…” Mai-chan dared to asked Ninomiya-san.

    “Yes?” Ninomiya-san replied.

    “…My imouto-chan likes you a lot.” She shouted.

    “Eh? Is that true, Mari-cha–” As he looked, Mari-chan was facing the back.

    “Nee-chan no baka.” She said quietly.

    “Nande, we won’t know if Ninomiya-san also likes you!” Her nee-chan demanded.

    “Chotto matte ne.” Ninomiya-san said while standing up to go outside.

    After a while, he came back.

    “You can get inside now!” Nino-kun said to someone.

    “Ohayou!!” Ohno Satoshi said while barging in.

    Sakurai Sho went inside waving a hand saying “Hello”

    “Hello to everyone!!” Aiba Masaki shouted with a big smile on his face.

    “Ne, can I ask? What are we doing here?” Matsumoto Jun asked Ohno cluelessly.

    “Nino-kun asked us here for something. Now, Nino-kun, what are we going to do?” Ohno Satoshi answered and asked.

    “……..*blah, blah, blah*….” Nino-kun whispered to his four co-members.

    “Yay!!!” Aiba excitedly shouted.

    There was a bit of silence. But they continued talking.

    “Ne, minna. Do you have someone you like?” O-chan started.

    “I like my sister.” Sho replied.

    “What kind of answer is that?” MatsuJun demanded.

    “Matsumoto-kun likes Mai-chan!!” Aiba shouted.

    “Eh? Atashi?” Mai-chan said while pointing to herself.

    “Eh…Eto…Nande mo nai.” MatsuJun panickly said.

    Mai-chan’s blush can be seen.

    “Nani shitendo? Are you blowing up my cover?” MatsuJun whispered to Aiba, but it can still be heard.

    “Aibaka” MatsuJun whispered.

    As Mari-chan heard this she realized something, she was about to say something, but Sho interfered a question.

    “Nino, how about you? Do you have someone you like?”

    “Ore? Hmm… Yes, I have someone I like.” Nino-kun answered.

    “Eh?! Dare?” Sho gave an unbelievable look on his face.

    “Mmm… Himitsu!” Nino-kun said.

    “Eh, sonna!” Aiba sadly replied.

    “Ja…It’s Mari-chan!!!” Nino-kun said.

    “Yappari.” Mari-chan sadly whispered. “Eh?!!!” Her voice can be heard.

    “Now, don’t hate your Onee-chan when you wake up. She’s important to you like how important she is to Matsumoto-kun.” Nino-kun whispered.

    “Huh? Wake up?” She said confusedly.

    “Oi, wake up!!!”

    Mai-chan’s voice can be heard.

    “Ne, is your dream about Arashi?” She asked to her imouto-chan.

    Mari-chan nodded.

    “Did Jun said that he likes me?” she added.

    *nod, nod*

    “Did Nino said that he likes you? Mai-chan questioned again.

    *nod…..faint*

    Mari-chan immediately stood up.

    “Arienaitsuno!” Mari-chan shouted. “It’s all just a dream. Okay, okay, calm down me.”

    “By the way, what are you about to say earlier in our dream? Something said to me that you want to say something but Sho interfered.” Mai-chan asked.

    “Ah! It’s just that I want to say ‘Sorry’ to you. Nino-kun said something to me. If what I remember is right he said : ‘Now, don’t hate your Onee-chan when you wake up. She’s important to you like how important she is to Matsumoto-kun.’ Mari-chan explained.

    “What? So Jun really like me? Kyaa~!” her Nee-chan were excited.

    “Baka. That’s impossible! He doesn’t even know you!” Mari-chan replied. “Demo ne, I’m really sorry earlier. I don’t really hate you.”

    “Me too. Gomen ne?” Mai-chan said while hugging her imouto-chan.
