• The little girl awoke with a start and shook her self slightly. She hadn't remembered falling asleep but she knew that sleeping in the car for any reason was prohibited. She looked around the interior of the sleek black Rolls Royce and then back out of the window at the summer sun peeking out amoung the trees every so often. Not having anything else to do she fixed her short and scratchy blue dress and propped her head up on her arm to stare out the window.The screnery seemed to strech on and on beside the car, repeating itself like the backgrounds of the numerous black and white cartoons she had watched.The bleak sky and repetitiveness slowly drew her into a dream like state in which her perception of time began to blur. It couldv'e been seconds, minutes or hours that she sat there staring, at this point she couldn't care less. As she became less and less alert, she began to day dream about a large variety of things, from common hosehold plants to what kind of jelly she had eaten on her toast that morning before setting out on this trip. Questions streaked through her mind as she sat there thinking, none of them even staying in her mind long enough to be asked. Suddenly, a great feeling of fear came over her, and she an urge tobuckle up and curl up in a ball. Without even questioning the nature of these felings she did so and held her breath, waiting for what she thought was to come. Just then out of the corner of her eye she looked out the passenger side window to see a large 18 wheeler truck run a red light and hit the side of the car so hard as to jolt her from her seat...
