I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight. See, my brother is taking me into town tomorrow and I can't wait! My freinds tell me that the town is really big, and there are lots of people, and even humans! I'd keep writing, but it's lights out now, although I'm sure there will be lots to write about tomorrow.

It's funny, seeing this again, especially after that day. I was so excited to be going into town. Who knew that such a wonderful day would end up with a group of humans carrying away my dead brother's body, they killed him, with his severed head on the street in a pool of blood. I heard them say that his pure white scales would fetch a high price. They didn't get me because my brother hid me before they killed him. I spent the next three months with my scales covered in soot so I looked dull and grey. That whole time I was on the streets, on my own, forced to steal every crumb of food I could lay my hands on just to avoid starving. I was also forced to commit other acts, including killing a drunken fool who mistook me for somebody else. I was lucky teacher came into town, otherwise I probably wouldn't have survived the approaching winter. Anyways, I should get to sleep, tomorrow is a big day.

It took me two years but I have finally obtained every last bit of my brother's body, including his head. I even used my magics to reverse the decay and all the damage that was done to him, and tomorrow, all will be fixed.

Fixed? What a fool I was. Fixed, no, I was banished. Well, more accurately, sentenced to death, but I got out through the secret tunnel my bestfreind and I had discovered years ago. Anyways, what got me "banished" was quite simple. I used forbidden magic to summon a shadeling, the soul of my dead brother, and anchor it to his body. There was, however, one small issue. A dead body has no mind and no magical connections, therefore no ties holding a soul to this world, and because of which the shadeling slipped through the body without attaching. Shadelings are not made for this world, and for that reason my brother's soul began to slip back into the afterlife, and so I, in an act of childish desperation, anchored his soul to my body instead. That act nearly killed me, and I mean that literally. When I anchored his soul to my body it destroyed all of my magical connections leaving me with nothing but my mind binding my soul to my body. The shadeling was bound to my body through its magical ties to shadow and corruption, staining my pure white scales pitch black. I spent the next four years of my life learning how to fight and use only these two branches of magic. I already have the blood of a dozen on my hands, but blood doesn't show as well on black scales than it does on white, does it brother? I haven't found the ones yet who made his white scales run red, but when I do there will be hell to pay.

The deed is done, my brother, you are avenged, but one question now rises above the rest. What now? The past ten years of my life have been dedicated on revenge. What should I do now, being banished from the only home I've ever known and with nowhere to go? I am approaching the town of Arkson, maybe my question will find its answer here?
