• I pushed through the brush without thought and tried to breathe calmly. I pressed my back against a tree, peeping behind it to see if he was following. No one was there but crunching footsteps on the fallen leaves showed he was nearby. I pulled up my stash of 4 arrows- I had two dozen and only have a few now. My bow was strong but almost broken. I was going to get caught by him, and I woyldn't let myself.
I quickly jumped from the tree and darted further into the wilderness. My lungs were on fire and my throat was in pain, but I had to keep moving, get away.
I couldn't think. My heart felt lumpy as I rushed though bushes and patches of flowers. My legs were cut on thorns, and the bleeding made me stop. I crouched down, pulling an arrow up with my bow.
The tall, pale man came into view. This could be my shot that would kill this wretched man, this torturous person.
I closed my eyes and shot it in darkness, standing and feeling again. If he wasn't shot, he'd know where I was. I could hear my arrow snap, and he was running to me.
I tripped on an upcoming thorne vine and smashed against the ground. The excruciating pain in my ankles swelled as the mass bleeding hurled though my body. I fixed an arrow up before realizing my bow was snapped in half. I was finished, and I would die with no pride.
I began to water, my eyes stinging with blood, dirt and tears. I tried to sit up, only to be hit with a branch and falling back down. Now my own blood ran down my face, choking into my mouth. I disgustingly spat, my choked whines following moans of pain.
I looked up. 'O isis,' I prayed aloud. 'take me to your might palace above the stars, let me be in peace,'.
As I closed my eyes, a flashing blue gem brightly shone before my very eyes.
