• Ch.1

Pure white covering the land, gracing the earth from the dark sky above with its cold beauty. Endless snow and yet not so endless as it melts away as seasons change. I stood on the roof top of a building watching over the city like always. Watching people live different lives some fortunate and some with misfortune trying to survive this ice filled hell. As for me i live pretty well in solitude in a one bedroom apartment, traveling and working where i can. There are other like me here but i intend to avoid them not trusting them or anyone else.

Morning soon came I head back to my apartment getting reading for the long and dreadful day that awaits me. As i step out of my apartment i bump into someone. I turn to see a girl with long black hair that went down to her waist, a few white streaks and deep mesmerizing violet eyes. "Sorry" she says in soft voice as soon as I saw her face a rush of pain and familiarity goes through me. I say nothing quickly leaving getting outside and taking a few deep breaths. (What just happened to me) I think to myself running a hand through my hair. (It was probably nothing) I think again to myself taking one last deep breath I forget about it continueing down the street.

I get to an old red brick looking building, a big sign hung on the top reading "Wilson's Bookstore." I go inside going behind the counter, sitting near the register. I settle in, earphones in my ears music blarrying a bit. I worked here it was quiet, peaceful and not crowded so much. I also have two other jobs at "Ron's Music Store" and i also body guard on the side when needed or recommended. I soon hear the "ring" of the beell at the entrance. I look up from the book I was reading, I freeze seeing the girl from earlier. I look back at my book trying to ignore her presence. Few minutes later and I hear "excuse me" says the girl with her soft, sweet voice. I set my book down as she hands me some books. I ring them up for her, i could feel her staring at me. "um excuse me again arnt you that guy i bumped into im really sorry" she says. I just nod giving her the bag with her books avoiding looking at her. "I guess I'll see you later" she says leaving. I sigh getting my book again but i couldn't concentrate (what was she doing here? Was she following me or was it pure accident?) I decide to set it aside for now getting back to my own little world.

My day dragged on the same as everyday lonely and boring. The night was moonless I was walking home a bag of food in one hand. I suddenly hear a small scream nearby. I turn into a dark alley way seeing two thugs one short and dark the other tall and blonde. They were surrounding someone. I start to turn to ignore it when I see a glimpse of familiar violet eyes that filled with fear. I stop my body moving toward them I tap on the short man's shoulder. The man turns "go away kid" the man says in a deep voice. I glare a bit easily taking him out with a sharp blow to the stomach with my knee, kicking him down. The tall man turns "hey" he shouts coming at me with his fist. I grab his fist twisting his arm and bringing him down to his knees. The men didn't put up much of a fight getting up and running off. "Thanks" says the girl her voice a bit shaking she wipes away her tears. She follows me afraid to be alone "you should be more careful" i say to her a bit coldly. She nods "my name is Kara I live next to you? Whats yours?" she asks me. I sigh "Alec" I say then mentally kick myself for giving her my name. We finally get to the apartments 'I guess I'll be seeing you Alec and thanks again" Kara says then we part ways. I close the door behind me taking a deep fustrated breath. ( What the hell is up with me) I think (why did i feel the need to help her a total stranger and why do I keep seeing her). So many question ran through my mind but I set them aside for now again. I settle in taking a hot shower then heading to bed for a sleep filled with nothing but nightmares and haunting dark memories.
