• He was sitting. Waiting. Though he knew she wouldn’t come back, he still believed she would. The obvious never stood out to Zephyr. Nor to his wife, Josephine. They were creative thinkers. Always looking at things the hard way. From a completely different point of view. He was a believer, she was a dreamer. They were meant for each other. But not forever. Soon, Josephine became mentally sick. From then on, she never got to go outside. And she hated that. She loved the outdoors, but Zephyr had to ban her from going outside, afraid she would run, far away, and never come back. They loved each other, but soon Josephine’s love for Zephyr, became hate. Zephyr couldn’t let her hate him, so he tried to make her love him again by taking her outside for a walk. But his thought became reality. She ran. He tried to catch her, but she was so fast. So fast. Like an animal escaping a cage. She was running as the freedom struck her. Smiling. Laughing. She never stopped running, till she knew she was out of Zephyr’s view. Josephine ran all the way to the ocean. Freedom overpowering her. But something else struck her too. Horrible thoughts. Crazy thoughts. She was mentally sick, so she wasn’t herself. She became angry. Then sad, depressed. “What about Zephyr?”, she thought. “Had she hurt him too much? But he held her in the house like a prisoner! She had deserved this.” The thoughts in her mind became evil. “Who needed him?! He tortured her in that house, so why go back? He was horrible… So mean! I hate him! ” Tears came to her eyes. Anger became sorrow. She walked closer and closer to the ocean. She jumped into the ocean, purposely drowning herself. Then she realized the memories of them together, before she was sick. She wanted to go back. The waves struck her forcefully.”No!”, she cried. “Take me back! I don’t want this! Help me! Help me, Zephyr!” But he wasn’t there. She wailed, sobbed. Becoming scared, becoming terrified. And then she died.
Zephyr never forgot her. He waited, till his smooth skin became wrinkled. Till his good looks became soggy. Till he started to lose strength. Till his bones became weak, and he died.
