• Chapter One:

    I could barely stand in my shower, trembling from fright. My mother had always told me to let the water soothe me, as it always had. The steam began rising around me as I took deep breathes. I let the water pound softly on my head, then stream off my shoulders and down my back, caressing my legs and finally pooling at my feet. Still shaking, I turned off the water and stepped onto the damp bath mat. I stood dripping for a while then took a fresh, clean towel off the hook.
