• It was a year of nightmares

There was a report about a killing at a strange cemetery that no one ever went to anymore. It was full of old things and it made everyone around there got creeped out and they soon lost their minds. The cemetery could fit two football fields in it and there were old gray spooky trees that looked like they were dead for 100 years. The stones for the graves were falling apart and were broken. It is said that if you went there and looked back when you went away you would see a shadow of some sort of man. Everyone thought that it was a shadow from the tree nearest to it. But it was no shadow. It was a lost soul of someone evil. The week after the first killing there was a second killing. The rate of killing went up and up at the end of the first month there was a total of 24 killings. The townsfolk started to worry that something was headed for that town. That the awful killings were going to get them too. Some moved away. Some stayed. Some went completely crazy. People were being drawn to the cemetery as if it was someone they loved calling them to go there. People kept moving away. There came a day when there was reported three murders on the same day and 5 on the next. The town had to do something before everyone was killed. But what could they do? They had no idea. The mayor had an idea to ask the most fearless person they know. Nyhmai was 19 years old and didn’t fear the dead. She was actually fascinated with it. They asked her to go up to the cemetery and find out what is happening. Nyhmai accepts the challenge. The next day she goes up there and she looks all the way around the place, she looks at the old and broken tombstones and she climbs the trees that scare everyone. She finds nothing suspicious looking though and she started to wonder if there even was anything up here. She turned around and headed for the gate, she got there and she thought she heard a whisper. She turned around and right in front of her was a man. He had light yellow hair and had blue eyes. He was wearing a blue shirt and he wore jeans. For being in an old cemetery he didn’t look that old she thought. “Who are you? And are you the person who has been killing the townsfolk?” she asked.
“I am Rorik. I haven’t been killing your people but I know who has been.”
“who? Tell me please. I need to deal with this person. He is hurting people and he is frightening the people.”
“I can’t tell you who he is. He has me under a spell that only someone else can undo.
“Hm. Come with me and perhaps I can find a way to undo your spell. If you point me in the direction I need to go you wouldn’t be helping me.”
“I can do that and I would gladly help.” The two traveled on for a few days stopping when Nyhmai needed to rest or sleep. Nyhmai learned a lot about Rorik and he learned a lot about her and how she grew up alone. They came up to this huge cave and they went inside. Along the sides were pictures of gruesome things. Rorik led the way to the killer and they got to this huge room. They went inside cautiously and Rorik went before Nyhmai to protect her. Nyhmai heard a loud booming voice calling out to a slave, “get me my goblet of wine.” Rorik led on and stopped before the killer. The killer looked at him and then at Nyhmai and said “what are you two mongrels doing here?” Nyhmai furious at this pompous jerk said “you have killed too many people to live. Who the heck are you?”
“I am known as Garf The shadow. I am known throughout the world”
“who? Never heard of you” she sneered
“Why you little devil for that I will kill you slowly for that” he rose from his chair and lifted a heavy sword above him. It came down but Rorik and Nyhmai moved. The ground shook and sparks lit up where his sword hit the ground. Nyhmai grabbed a knife and ran at him. She was able to get him in his stomach before he knocked her down and ran the sword around her arm. Causing her arm to burn a shape into her flesh. Rorik seeing this got mad and grabbed a sword from the table and swung at him. They dueled for a long time till eventually Rorik saw an opening and cut Garf down.
“That’s for Nyhmai’s friends.” He went over to Nyhmai and helped her to her feet. Nyhmai looked at her arm and she saw that there was a shape of a dragon from where Garf got her. It went from her writs up to her neck.
“Thank you Rorik.” She smiled at him and his spell was suddenly broken. “Rorik do you want to come with me?” he nodded unable to say anything. He grabbed her hand and they walked off to the town. Now that everything was alright everyone could live in peace.
