• Prologue
The Isis nation was categorized into different sections, or membrums. Brown eyes were the lowest ranking in society such as servants or slaves or actual house pets. Green eyes were the farmers, or cattle owners. They had the powers of growth and birth. Blue eyes were the warriors. They had the power of telekinesis, this power was often abused, leading to elimination of the blue eyes, people thought they posed a threat to the others, and could rise and destroy everyone and control their minds. Mixed eyes were almost unheard of. They were urban legends among the solid eye colors. People with hazel or cyan colored eyes were thought of as abominations. No one knew of their powers. Some stories tell of groups of people with mixed eye colors getting together and planning the annihilation of the royals.
Black eyes were royalty and had power that no man or woman could ever dream of. The white eyes are the most wonderful eye color it gave people immortality and if you take them you’ll get immortality. They are called the butterflies of the nation. They only appear every hundred years.

    This is Emma’s story.

    Chapter 1
Emma ran in the thick forest, her footsteps unheard as she ran from her enemies. Her long blonde hair whipping around in the wind like butterflies, angry voices followed. Run, just keep running was the mantra in Emma’s head as she fled. “We’re going to catch you; our butterfly “, one man called. Emma slowed down to halt, her body paralyzed. “Ha, Ha gentlemen look what we have here.” The man called to his men. “So we caught our butterfly in her cage.” Emma looked at him her white eyes gleaming with deadly intent. “Ohh,” another voice interrupted. The group of men around her moved aside as the shadowed figure stalked toward her. “You want me to release you from your paralyzed form.” The figure spoke in a soothing tone; his voice sending shivers down her spine. Emma blinked but said nothing her mouth paralyzed just like her body. The figure snapped his fingers and her mouth went slack. “You’ll never get what you want Darius”, Emma spat as soon as she was able. Darius chuckled. “Hand me my knife,” he said, a wicked looking blade flew toward him. “If you won’t give me what I want willingly I will torture you until you do”. The knife swung by Emma’s face slowly. “So my butterfly, shall we start?” Darius asked smiling. Emma screamed her voice cracking as the knife slowly sliced her cheek. “I will never give you my immortality.” Emma screamed as the knife made a bloody arc above her eyes, the warm liquid stinging. A white light filled the forest. Emma heard the scream of the men fill her ears. And then it all went dark.
