• Sure, I was perfect reality show material; rich, popular, and beautiful. But I what I wasn't was happy. Sure, my life was as fabulous as anyone could ever dream. I was Serena Kingston and I was miserable. Until I met the dark light of my life. It was a typical day at Diamond Mall. The cheer squad and I were playing Truth or Dare and they dared me to stay inside Rotten Subject for ten minutes or more. I agreed and browsed around for something that I could actually use. Then I heard the voice of a fallen angel.
"Can I help you, miss?" I turned around and fell in love with the most mesmerizing pair of eyes I could ever see.
"Well, can you recommend a CD?" I wasn't trying to flirt, but for the first time I felt shy.
"Sure. My addiction is the latest Lower Playground CD." Here's a factoid, I love Lower Playground.
"Oh, I've heard it already. I think Terra Crystal's voice on Senseless tops anything I've heard in my life.
    "The chorus makes me hazy."
    "Agreed..."
Then I told him I had to leave and the squad gushed about how amazingly ugly that guy looked. However, every day after cheer practice, I found him at Blender Frenzy on his break and eventually got his number [you player, you]. His name was Tom Serra, he went to Hale-Kent Private High School, he was seventeen, he worked at Rotten Subject, he was the biggest Lower Playground fan, and he was a descendant of Evian Kent, the co-founder of our high school. Eventually, he asked me to the park where I indecently and furthermore, impolitely hid from public exposure. He pushed me on the swing and suddenly stopped.
"I've been meaning to talk to you about something?" I inconveniently started sweating bullets and shooing butterflies from my stomach.
    "What?"
"Would you like to be my cara mia?"
"I'm not sure if that's grammatically accurate, but yes, I would.
    "Excellent."
And we sealed the deal with a kiss.
"Do you want me to bring you home?" he asked.
    "Why would I want that?"
"Because you seem pretty terrified that someone might actually see you with me."
"Right now, I don't think I could care any less."
"And I wouldn't have it any other way. However, what about school? I wouldn't want to ruin your spotless reputation for my sake."
"We'll deal with that when it comes to the point where we absolutely have to."
"If it's any consolation, which it probably isn't, I'm pretty popular in my..social group.."
"Oh, the inconvenience of love. How it bothers me so."
"When you've fallen, you've fallen, and you just can't float."
    "Nice."
    "Appreciated."
"The question is, can you float for me?"
"And by that you mean, you're asking me to pretend I'm not dangerously in love with Serena Gwen Denton Kingston?"
"Come on, I don't think your crowd will be so swift to accept that Tom Richard Kent Serra's heart is stashed in my multimillion dollar trust fund."
    "Maybe, maybe not."
"When I come to terms that I have stolen your most important organ and that this isn't a perfect dream, then my insecurities will fly away."
    "I'm counting on that."
And another deal was sealed with the perfect mixture of soft lips and the best cherry chap stick you can buy.
