My Book
I've been writing in this since I was thirteen in 2007. I still am writing in it, and it will probably be my legacy till the day I die. (Don't start reading from the beginning as my writing was atrocious then.)
C. M.
We randomly met at the corner of west 34th around Javits center. I was waiting for the Megabus. You saw me first. I was waiting casually checking my phone and changing songs playing through my headphones. I didn't notice you because of that. How you noticed me after many years I wouldn't know, maybe I didn't change externally. It was a nice bright day actually. It was quite sunny.

"Ray is that you?"

Of course I didn't hear you because you know, I have Sithu Aye's Cassini blasting through my ears. I was staring into thoughtless space, when all of the sudden I managed to happen to look at towards your direction, towards the halal carts. I didn't see you even as if you walked towards my direction, waving calling out my name, that I didn't hear. Until finally you were in point blank range and waved your hand across my face. I snapped out of my daze and removed my headphones.

"Ray!" you exclaim.

"Huh?" Even then I was still in my daydream, but then as I heard your voice, I remember. You had this accent that I adored. I look at you, and your dark hair, which flowed like waves. I loved your curls, even though your hair wasn't really curly but rather wavy. I scan your face with my eyes, then memories flood me, of the times we spent.

"Hold on" you say as you run back towards the halal cart. I think your order was done. I turned off the music playing and walk towards you. You were digging in your purse for your wallet. By the time I got there the guy was getting annoyed.

"One moment please." you say embarrassingly "Sorry"

"How much?" I asked you

"Just 5 dollars, if i can find my wallet"

I reached out to mine, and payed the guy, pointing at you to indicate that I was paying for you. The guy nodded and slipped in an extra fork in your bag. He winked at me in which I was weird-ed out a little. When finally you got your wallet. you were so distressed searching for it that you didn't even noticed that I just payed for you. You looked so confused at what just happened.

"Its alright, I just payed" I take the plastic bag off the counter and handed to you.

"Reelly?" you say, "thanks then!"

"Your welcome" I smile

"I owe you one," You smile in return,

"____, is that really you?"

"Yeah..", you say, I caught that tint of sadness in your big dark eyes. We have the same eyes, the big dark ones that hide our souls, and hide our emotions and our truest intent, only those with sharp perceptions such as you and I could peer through them. "Ray, eets been a while."

"I have to go back" I say, in which I see the sadness grow deeper. "I'm waiting for a bus to Philadelphia"

"O," you look down at the ground. Clouds covered the sun for a bit, darkening the area from its bright colors, painting the scene with the gray of the NYC pavements.

"Its nice seeing you again, after how many years was it?"

"Three," you say, as if you kept in count. "You have my number right?"

I shake my head no.

"Well here," You took out a napkin from the plastic bag and a sharpie from your purse and wrote it down, with your name and handed it to me.

"Thanks," as I snapped a picture of it on my phone so I won't forget, in the event that I do lose it.

"You're an a*****e you know," You say, I'm not sure if it was sincere or sarcasm. "We just met again since 3 years, and you're leaving 'again' ******** you didn't even say hi," You were legitimately pouting at this point. I could hear the slight pains and agony from your tone. "You didn't even recognize me at first."

"Well... hi," I say.

"Hi to you too"

I take a deep breath: "Listen, when I come back, there's this nice coffee shop around here that I've been meaning to go to. Maybe we can go together, when I come back. To catch up or something."

"Depends when you'll be back," you say snarkily. "I might not be here."

"We'll figure it out. I'll text you."

In my head I'd hope you'd wait for me, but lets be honest. Who would wait for someone like me. I walk back towards the bus stop. And when the bus finally arrived, during the ride your words only lingered in my thoughts. You lingered in my thoughts.
