I don't get why people gamble, the word basicly translates to "give your money to a conman". Most of the time, when you gamble, you lose, probobly because it's just a matter of time. It's like the "accidents happen in the house" thing; the more time you spend doing something, the more time you have to have a mishap.

There are a few arguements that support gambling.
"I could win a lot" -yes, but you can lose even more.
"it's so much fun" -is bankruptcy fun?
"well, what if you cheat?" -then it's not gambling, is it?
"well, walking outside of your house is a gamble, anything could happen to you" -yes, so why add to your risks?

You can really see what I mean playing a video game that allows you to gamble, being that you are F%#&ED about 80% of the time. This was especially true in the Fable games, in which every last dealer is a cheater and the more you bet, the more likely it'll pretty much say "f%^k you, you lose, wanna try again? you lose. again? you lose more, again? ok, you can have a little bit, once more? YOU LOSE!" Thankfully, it's pretty easy to get rich in those games, so gambling wouldn't be the way to go even if it was fair.

I'm actually a bit grateful to have been cheated so much, I think the guys who made the games wanted to send a similar message to the one I am now; "when you gamble, you lose, don't do it."

BOTTOM LINE: Don't tempt fate, it hates you.
