The Weekly Rant LXXIV -sensitivity with stereotypes
I hate people complaining about things they see in movies or television and think that some group is being mocked by it.
Example: A black guy in a movie that talks funny, (kind of like an understandable ebonics, know what I mean?) eats fried chicken, and gets killed at the end. People view it as racism and an insult to everyone with dark skin.
For one thing, it's a movie, they didn't kill that actor when they were done. For another, don't you people know what a stereotype really is? The public defention seems to be "something a group might do and is viewed as an insult when mentioned". To me it's "something a group may do, but don't be shocked if they don't, ya jackass."
Resident evil, a game in which horrific mostrosities being gored by bullets is the main attraction, is soon to release it's questionably named "5th" sequel that takes place in africa. There are black people in africa, so the infected this time around will be dark skinned. Needless to say, team retard has already moved in and declared the game racist for being geographically accurate.
No, there's no complaint of how freakish monsters could be ripping open a man's ribcage before feastingo n his heart by the "we hate violence" committee, no objections to how RE's #1 backstabber, Albert Wesker, has been spending too much time in the "Devil May Cry" series (another of capcom's franchises) and can ninja-port around the room, dodging bullets matrix style, but black people (who are already dead inside because PARASITES from hell are controlling their brains) getting shot? NOOOOOooooo, that won't do at all.
Idiots.
BOTTOM LINE: It doesn't matter what happens in movies, games, or tv, people should know stereotype from reality, so no one should be bitching.
