• The Reaper and The Way

I stand and I watch in sadness and shame
As I watch someone go away
    The sadness that beckons
And the shame that wont go away
    As someone that has joy
    Shutters out on their way
And leaves ones to sadden days
    With no joy
    And only pain
    I see my friend
    And her family
Weeping and praying for his time to run
    That the reaper will go
And leave him for the other days
But as I stand and I watch
    As his life’s striped away
    I see that the reaper
    Will claim him today
    That he will not live
    To see another day
    I gaze at my friend
    And her sadden stair
Hoping for her and giving her hope
    That another day
    Shall come and rise
    As he pasts away
    I gaze and I move
    Right by her side
    And said with my voice
    “He shall go on,
    To a better place,
    And I shall stand here
And lead you on your way
    To hope and to joy
To the life which you hold.”
