• The beginning
    Shattered
    The Dark,
    Sprinkling lavender-scented
    Hope
    In our footprints.
    We were two
    Intertwined dots,
    Shunned by
    Loneliness,
    Kidnapped by
    Happiness.
    But when you left,
    It was hard to
    Imagine
    That the world wouldn’t too.
    No, it just kept on
    Spinning;
    It’s complicated,
    Erratic,
    Heartbeat-pulsing
    Spinning.

    The sun didn’t stop
    Illuminating,
    The wind didn’t stop
    Howling,
    The moon didn’t stop
    Rising.
    Selfishness
    Still thrived on
    Vulnerability,
    Fear
    Still conquered
    Weakness,
    Hope
    Still cowered behind the
    Glass.
    When you left,
    The world didn’t change.
    When you left,
    The world didn’t care.

    We used to be
    One,
    Two hearts mangled by
    Passion,
    Until you left.
    Without you
    I was
    Nothing,
    Without you I
    Stopped.
    My eyes stopped
    Shining,
    My mouth stopped
    Smiling,
    My mind stopped
    Thinking,
    My heart stopped
    Beating.
    Loneliness sits
    On the porch steps,
    Wrapped in a
    Shawl of
    Intricately carved Shadows,
    Arms wide open.
    “Welcome home,”
    She whispers.
