• I sit here, in the darkness that is night,
    thinking as I gaze upon the moonlight sky;
    a flicker here, a glimmer there,
    and a sparkle; showing me night's true beauty.

    I have wished to know why the stars shine;
    Why are we, mere beings, aloud to see such...such wondrous beauty?
    Why can we perceive an otherworldly luminescence?
    Why do we just sit in awe as we catch just a glimpse of this magnificent grace[though, that speaks for itself]?

    These specks of light flirt with us mortals;
    Romantics gliding across the calm, glistening liquid,
    Writers voicing their passion in the form of words,
    Even animals as they mate under these nocturnal delights.

    Yet fools are we that sleep during this temporal period,
    ignorant as the fluorescence envelopes our land;
    blind as this brilliant choreography illuminates the terrain;
    deaf as this ravishing wonder cries out to us!

    Only mere moments have passed, yet I realize that
    this has been my life; I have found it worth living.

    Wonder I may, and wonder I might,
    but we don't deserve to know about their elegant delight.
