• The true meaning of Christmas is not about 'giving', 'family', or 'love'. But it's about what God gave, how God I our family, and God's love. See, God always loved man, he parted the sea for Moses, gave Noah a forecast, and even showed mercy to the Israelites at Sinai. Yes sir, God has had a history of grace. But in Christmas, we celebrate the greatest act of grace the Lord has ever shown, when he crushed the serpents head with Jesus. Now, we have had the promise of the messiah since Adam + Eve. The true meaning of Christmas has 3 major parts: Prophesy, victory, and mercy.
Now, prophesy. We celebrate the fact that what mankind had expected for 5,000 years had finally come true. One reason that we really celebrate Christmas is because we simply remember the wait. Obeying the call to remember the past.
We also, in the true meaning of Christmas, celebrate victory. Christ came and crushed, now that Jesus came, we have already won the battle, God has delivered us from the enemy, and has placed the enemy into our hands. Now if this isn't something to party to, I don't know how to party. sad
We also celebrate mercy. How God will show us grace and lead us to heaven when we die. God took our sins onto his son, so we get together during Christmas time to say "Thank you!" to him.
Indeed, besides saying 'Happy birthday' to Jesus, I'm sure there is more to Christmas than the common thought allows.
