• 18,000 Years Present

"Dad. Stop." I pleaded as my father drug me out to the yellow, vehicular torcher device of doom known as a school bus. "I beg you, don't do this to me!" I whispered as the door opened up. An old, wrinkly woman sat in the driver's seat. You could smell the youth aboard, a strong mix of Ax and perfumes of different varieties. The sound of teens shouting at each other just to talk before school filled my ears as my father pushed me aboard. "You are the one who said you wanted to do this. Not me, not your mother. For three months now you've been talking nonstop about how excited you were about finally going to high school. You can't back out now just because of a loud, yellow bus."

    "But Dad!"

"No. Go to school. You'll see your mother in a couple hours. I have to go on a trip." he said, taking a step back as the dingy door of the bus closed infront of me. My father waved the bus off from the front lawn, my mother from our door.

"Go take a seat." came the voice of the bus driver. It sounded somewhere between the screech of nails against a chalkboard and a basset hound's deep bark. I thought only demons had that sound, clearly I was wrong because this woman was nowhere near dead despite her addiction to energy drinks. I could smell the tangy sweetness of a monster she must ave had before boarding her bus to pick up all of the rowdy kids that crowded this now fulled to capasity, horid, yellow, driven machinery.

I scanned the isle, no seats in the front. just teens yelling and leaning over seats, messing with other teens and playing on phones. I got a couple dirty looks, plenty of people stared... I know people started talking about me already. My first day and it was already going to be the longest day of my life, and let's face it... I've already lived a long life.

I guess I should introduce myself, My name is Athanatos Koinos, I am Death's Son. I'm 18,000 years old, young in the immortal world, and after being home schooled for all of my life I told my parents that I wanted to go to a regular high school at least once before taking on the grand responsibility of the family business. Collecting lost souls and guiding them to where they belong, whether it be the Underworld or Heaven, Reincarnation is rare. Hardly ever happens, BUT I have seen reincarnated souls in the living. It's quite an interesting sight. The soul seems to know it's in a different body, yet it manages to keep some old personality traits. Such as Einstein's', his soul has been reincarnated, but it always holds tight to, such as a love for water and sailing, a hatred of socks, and the love for the sound of the violin.

Anyhow, here I am... on this school bus... surrounded by people my age (technically speaking I am older them but I'm a teen in the immortal world, no one takes me seriously. Whatever.)

The bus jolted forward, earning a couple squeals from some girls attempting to do their make up, and I to stumble forward and almost trip over someone's backpack that was splayed out in the middle of the isle,"Sorry 'bout that, man." the boy said, gathering the items from his dumped backpack., refusing to make eye contact with me. I took a couple more steps forward till a couple other guys were bickering with each other on either side of the bus when one brought out a can of Axe to spray the other with, but caught my neck instead, some of it getting in my eye, managing to get under my contact lens.

"AH!" I cried out, cupping my eye"DUDE! DUDE, I'M SO SORRY! HOLY s**t!!" the guy holding the spray said, dropping the spray and guiding me to the seat next to him, "Yo,Erick, give me some tissues!"

"How do you know if I have tissues or not?"

"Dude, I know your mother, she makes sure you have EVERTHING on the first day of school, dork."

"Shut up, man."Erick said, pulling some tissues out of the bag I'd tripped upon earlier. Axe-sprayer brought out a bottle of water from his bag between us now and dampened the tissue. "Here." He handed me the wet tissue. I hid my eye, popping out my contact and dabbing at my eye, trying to ease the discomfort and get as much of the god awful cologne off of my face, also dabbing at my contact. My reason with attempting to be so sneak were th fact that my irises are unnaturally red, I have brown contact to conseal them, and this particular moment was not my most shining when it came to discreetness, though from the looks of it no one suspected anything. "Aw, dude, I didn't know you had contacts in, they look so natural. Pretty rad though."

"Well yeah, no one knows too much about me. I'm new here." I quickly popped my contact in, blinking to adjust it. it still stung, but it wasn't unbearable."I'm Jako."

    "Athanatos. Just all me Athan."

"Cool. What classes you got Athan?"

"I, ah... Not too sure yet. I'll have to go the Administrations or something to grab my schedule. I think I left mine at home, it was a rush to get out the door."

"Ah. It's all good. How 'bout I show you 'round the school when we get there? You'll be able to get a better lay out of the place."

"Uh... sure." perhaps this might not be the worst day ever...
