• “~~~~~, we have a problem."

Looking up, the woman’s brows furrowed as her assistant came hurrying up towards her. She didn’t like that statement one bit. Working in the media meant deadlines, and problems meant difficulty in meeting deadlines, and not meeting deadlines was not getting work done. “What?” she half snapped as he arrived in front of her.

“The slot for today’s Choices’ interview,” Ricky, her assistant replied, ignoring her tone as he was used to his boss’ behaviour – she might be moody, but she was never personal about it, “We got a phone call today, he’s cancelling.”

“He’s WHAT???” she exploded as her assistant backed up a few steps, completely aware of how she was going to react. “He said that...”

Ricky was not able to finish his sentence before she stormed out of the editing room to deal with the errant interviewee.

Those who worked with her called her the iron butterfly and those who end up rubbing her the wrong way call her a frigid b***h. Be it whatever they call her, they knew the level of her work and there was grudging if not outright respect for her. Ricky, for one has been working as her assistant for the past two years and a half - so he knew how to work with her without having her bite his head off.

When he had first been assigned to her department, he had been warned by the rest of the crew about their boss. She’s a b***h when it comes to work but that’s about as far as it extends. Do your work well and you’ll be fine. ~~~~~ was especially harsh on slackers and people who don’t pull their own weight (she herself being an unapologetic workaholic) and what she hated the most were people who did not keep their word. Not turning up for an interview, for instance. Ricky sighed, pushing back the cap he as wearing from his forehead. Oh dear, if she didn’t get the guy to come in for the interview, the rest of the crew would be the ones tasting the sharper side of her tongue later. He looked back down at the contents file that he had in his hand. Lee Byung Hun a very successful wedding plannerin the fact that a man had managed to carve himself such an impressive spot in a business dominated by women. The picture included in the file had the man smiling broadly at the camera.

RIcky guessed the man was not much older than himself. Well, deciding to cancel the interview with ~~~~~ at the last minute is not very smart of him. ------ She parked at the curb, be damn if there was a yellow line. If there is anything more she hated in the world, it’s people who don’t know how to keep their promises. Now mind you, she’s not always this moody but when a deadline is hanging behind her head like a noose, one does not have much liberty to be a nice pushover. Storming into the building, ~~~~~ barged into the reception area of Ti Amore. The place was done in beautiful white and cream décor filled with delicate and tasteful paintings, but ~~~~~ noticed none of this. The girl at the reception looked up in surprise when she slammed a hand on the counter. “Yes?” she asked, rather hesitantly, at the sight of the furious young woman standing over the counter. “I’m looking for Lee Byung Hun.” “Uh... do you have an appointment to see...” “No,” she snapped, “But HE has an appointment with me which he didn’t keep!” “Uh...” “Where is he?” “He went to the Four Seasons hotel because a client had an unexpected emergency...”

Before the receptionist could finish her sentence, ~~~~~ was already storming out of the office. The receptionist looked at her in surprise, not really sure about what to make of the whirlwind young woman who had blown so suddenly through the office.
