Sitting all alone in the basement of her home, Gabryelle sighed, thinking back on the events of her life. Never had they been ideal, or even close, but she survived.
    Somehow.
Her icy hands, cupped together to try and warm them, shook violently in th basement's cold room. Gaby stood and strode across her small room to her double-sized bed and pulled back the blankets. Though she was in jeans and a long-sleeved white and grey horizontally striped shirt, her body shook with fear as well as lack of warmth. A familiar buzz came from her plush green pillow, reminding her that Roger, her fiancee, was due to call.
Looking at her small Samsung Messenger II phone, she sighed. Things had been rocky with him since he returned from his trip to Japan. They'd gotten into a big fight the night he came back, and never really made up. Besides that, she hadn't had sex in three months because he was gone.
"Hello?" she clicked the green button and answered.
"Gaby, hey. It's Roger." came a voice from the other end.
"I know. Do you need something? I was just going to lay down for a nap." she replied curtly.
"Can I come over? I really need to talk to you."
"I guess.. But hurry, because I'm tired." she sighed.
"I'm outside; I'll be down in a minute." he hung up.
Slightly agitated, she turned on a dim light next to her bed, lighting the dark room slightly. Within a minute, Roger was down in her basement, looking as handsome as ever. Before she could speak, let alone react, he was on top of her, tearing at her short pajama shorts and tank top. Gaby pushed at him, but the effort was in vain. A sharp pain erupted in her head as she looked at him one last time.
    Everything went black.
