• That doctor said I only suffered a mild concussion, but I'm starting to think he missed something. I went on a walk today, and was getting pretty close to home when something weird happened. I was going my usual path, cutting through a small grove to get to my apartment, but the angles of everything were all wrong.

I'm not really sure how to describe this, but whenever I tried to turn one way, I found myself walking in a strange direction. I wasn't dizzy, and the direction I kept turning in wasn't left or right, or up or down. It was a path I couldn't comprehend except when I was walking down it.

The world seemed to curl in on itself, like a poster rolling up, and eventually I could smell the sea. Keening gulls and crashing waves told me I was at a beach. There were rocky spires jutting from the sand, threaded with delicate flowers.

A girl stood by one of those spires, holding some picked flowers. She smiled at me and brushed her green(?) hair back. I stood perfectly still, in a kind of shock, I guess. I had no idea what was going on. Before I could even think of moving, the scene before me curled up just like my world had a moment ago, and I found myself standing in front of my apartment, tightly clutching my keys.

I went inside, poured some straight Southern Comfort, and sat down to write. I don't think I'll see the doctor about this, especially if "fixing" me means I won't get to go back there. Because the more I think about it, the more I really do want to go back.
