• I turn off my alarm clock, stretching and yawning. I check my calender. August twenty-two..oh no! It's the last day of summer! I start Potomac Middle School tomorrow. I pick up my dry-erase marker, and scribble the twenty-first out. I put the marker down, and hop of the bed. I see my sister, Janel on the other side of the room. My name is Jo. Normal girl, normal family, normal house, normal school. Well, maybe. I open my closet, and pick out some random clothes. Let's see..I grab a orange t-shirt that says, "Fashion is a Taste", my favorite jeans, and my orange flip flops. Janel can sleep through anything, including the loud sound of her alarm clock. Our room is big, and there's a big space between our beds, so she can't really hear mine. I turn off her alarm clock, letting her sleep. I see my mom already awake, watching T.V in her room, while dad is getting ready for work. "Good morning Jo. How'd you sleep honey?" My mom says. "Okay. Can I have blueberry pancakes?" I ask. "Okay." My mom says getting up. I follow her down the stairs, but I go in the living room instead. I turn on the T.V, and turn on my favorite show.

I yawn. Ugh, Jo didn't wake me up. But, if she does, I freak out. So you can't really blame her. I walk down the stairs, not even bothering to change. "Commercial. Oh, morning sis. I forgot to brush my teeth." I hear my sister Jo say. I wave, as she rushes up the stairs. I walk in the kitchen, noticing mom making pancakes. "Blueberry!" I yell, giving my mom a fright. "Jan, you scared me!" I shrug. "Sorry." I sit down at the table. School starts tomorrow. Worst, I have to go to school with my sister, Jo. Ugh. Jo is always embarrassing me. In public. I then hear footsteps come down the stairs. "I'm back." I see my sister Jo, come out of a shadow of dark gray. I better go brush my teeth now then. "I'm going to brush my teeth, Jo. Mom, i'll be right back." I say, getting up from the table. This is the last day of summer, I have to make it the BEST day of summer!
