• Ch 6
    The City Called Waz?

The city looked amazing, in an old fashion way: small house and shops lined each street. The roads where not made of cement, but were stones, and every once in a while we where pasted by horse drawn carriages. We had dropped our bags off at an inn and Ethan and I were now out site seeing. Turning onto a long, battered, street we decided to look around some of the shops. The longer I didn’t have to practice the better, or so I thought.
Inside the first store we were instantly surrounded by hats. I don’t mean there were tons of hats all around us on racks. The hats were flying around, circling us. A short, plump lady came shooing them away and greeted us. "Hello! Welcome! Sorry 'bout them. They tend to get 'cited 'round customers."
"They're amazing!" I said and once again the hats were surrounding me, swinging back and forth and dipping in loopy circles.
The lady giggled like an entertained child then shooed them away again "They do love complements. They’re silly things really. Well don't just stand there. Look ‘round I have a hat for everyone!" she said the bustled away
Ethan turned his head in every direction, random hair slipping into his face. He actually looked surprised by the flying hats, and his light brown eyes flickered in response. He walked towards a pile of them and reached for a faded green one, but before he could even brush his elegant fingers over the material it was landing on his head. I laughed. Everything here was amazing!

“Have you ever seen anything like this?" I asked walking up behind him.
"No," his words surprised me, "I spent most of my life in Training Houses. I've never really had time to go anywhere unnecessary."
It shouldn’t have surprised me; after all, nothing about him seemed normal or relaxed like a normal teenager. Yet, I was shocked that he hadn't gotten to be a real teenager. "Well," I said picking up a black pointed hat that was trimmed in red” I think we both need a hat. What do you think?"
He turned to face me smiling. I thought the green hat was perfect for him. It was something simple, but it made a clear statement to. "I think you'll need something crazier then that" he said.
"Okay. But the green hat looks great on you."
We walked arm in arm looking for a crazy hat. Although I personally think they were all a bit crazy, flying in your face and sweeping over out heads. In the very back of the shop we found it, a pointed and perfectly insane hat. It was black, with a raven printed on one side and a red mesh veil hanging down from the brim. It flew to me the moment I saw it and Ethan nodded his approval, a quick smirk twisting on his lips.
Once again the short woman made an appearance, and she seemed to approve as well. Clapping her hands together and making a quick turn, she waved us over to the cash register. A large array of hats fallowed us throw the rows and to the table were the old wooden register sat. Ethan paid, and then we exited the shop with our new flying hats.
"It really is perfect for you" he said as we walked further down the street.
    I couldn't stop smiling.
We walked arm in arm for a while, site seeing once again. Then a carriage pulled up next to us. We decided it might be fun, not to mention less painful for our feet, if we took the ride. As Ethan sat down across from me the driver asked where we wanted to go.
"Uh..." I said. Lucky for me Ethan steeped in.
"We're new around here." I look of delight crossed the drivers face.
"Excellent! I will take you to The Best Place. There you can find amazing foods and great shopping. Okay. Yes. Yes, that is where I shall take you." He jumped into the drives seat and away we went.

    Chapter 7
Shopping, Shopping and have I mentioned Shopping?

"How much money do we have left?" I asked Ethan as he helped me out of our ride and onto the clean street.
    "A lot"
I took in our surroundings. Huge buildings all made of what looked like rotting wood, surrounded us in all directions. "Who would call this The Best Place?" I asked myself.
We walked into the store in front of us and found rows among rows of all sorts of clothes. Luckily theses things didn't start flying when we entered. My jaw dropped open. In front of me was the most amazing dress I had ever seen, and I had spent a lot of time looking at dresses.
"Looks like we've walked into a formal store." Ethan pointed out the obvious. "Well. Let’s look around," he said as he begun walking down a row.
I was alone staring at the flowing dress in front of me. It was burgundy with no sleeves and a sort of beaded pattern on the top. As I move closer to it the dress began to turn. I jumped back a little, curiosity still picking at me. I could now see its back now. The burgundy dress had a corset like top. It would be pulled and tied closed.
I spun around to face a sales lady. "It's a one of a kind, made to fit any one. It even comes with a black over slip." she giggled "A bit like your hats veil"
Remembering I had a hat on, I reached up to remove it and it jumped into my hand. The dress was the same red as my hats veil. Ironic no? "It is the nicest dress I’ve ever seen" I felt Ethan move next to me.
"We should get you something for the dance. And it matches your hat." He nodded to the Sales lady and she took the dress to the register.
"What do you think? Is it to much?" He asked holding out a black tux.
"I like it." I nodded and smiled. I took his hand and headed to the register thinking, *now I have a new hat and dress great...I really didn't need more stuff, but they're so amazing*
"The shoes and accessories are up stairs on the second floor." She told us. I should have known we would end up with even more. Ethan and I sighed. I don’t think either of us wanted to look at shoes. No one looks at people’s feet. "This is all we're getting" I said saving the day.
We left each of us now carrying a bag. "I'm hungry" we said together
"Jinx!" I said laughing. I was actually beginning to have fun here. A flying hat, the perfect dress, and Ethan wasn't as bad as I originally thought.
He took me into the next building, The Food Court. I let him order us food while I saved us a table. After eating everything in front of me I refilled my soda and we continued shopping.
After about seven formal clothe stores we finally came across Madam Traje. It was a small store about the same size as the hat one. Inside the walls were lined with fine robes, and in the center there was a runway with robes, without owners, were walking showing themselves off!
"This world is so awesome." I said to Ethan
"We might as well get used to it. I suppose most witch and wizard worlds are like this." He said looking at the runway.
Two robes jumped down from the runway landing in front of us. One robe was a navy blue the other was black. the blue one was trimmed in silver and it led Ethan to the left hand of the store to help him find the right robe. The black one in front of me was also trimmed in silver but unlike the navy blue one it had a hood. The sleeves motioned towards the right side of Madam Traje.
A tall, slender woman walked up to me as I reached to robe covered wall. "Hello." she said in a smooth voice "I am Madam Traje." She had on thin rimed glasses and had her sliver hair up in a messy bun. "hello." I said
She made a quick circle around me nodding. "I know just the robe for you." she said once again standing in front of me. "come. come." She led me further down the wall her heels making a click with every steep. Click. Click. "Ah! Here it is."
She reached up and flicked her hand. Almost at once a black robe with a blue tent came off the wall and landed between us. Madam Trajie told the black hooded robe to go back to the runway then turned back to me. "Well try it on" she said crossing her arms. I pulled on the robe leaving the hood down. "It beautiful" I told her as I made a quick spin. She clapped her hand like an excited child. "Ooo it's perfect for you. Just perfect." she smoothed it out and moved the hood up. “The inside is ___. It’s perfect for any kind of weather. And the outer robe is easy to clean but almost impossible to stain."
*My mom will love that* i thought. "I love it. It's so soft feeling." I said admiring the sleeves.
"well since you have found such an amazing item maybe we could help you friend." It wasn't really a question but I nodded and walked across the store.
I stood behind Ethan ready to make him jump when I noticed his eyes had fallen on a single black cloak. it was very much like one I had seen before, on someone I wanted to forget.
Pulling my eyes away from the robe I placed my hand on Ethan shoulder. "Look who came to help ya find a robe." I said turning him to face Madam Traje. I tried to smile keeping my thoughts on here and now.
"well let's see what we have." Madam Traje said motioning for Ethan to spin for her. He moved one eyebrow up in question, but made a slow circle for her.
"Humm." she sighed as she looked him over again. I rolled my eyes. Ethan could probably take less time to find a cloak then she could even if he had no clue what kind he was looking for. "I...think I may have something for you." she said as she turned on her heal now heading further into her store. she clicked her tung as her eyes scanned over each row of robes. With a sigh she lifted a simple black one from the bottom row. It had silver stitching and no hood. With lines of silver running through it I thought it looked very classy. "try it on." I looked at him and smirked. he just stood looking at the robe. He was still think of IT I elbowed him attempting to bring him back to the store.
Shaking his head a little he took hold of the robe and put it on. I traced a sliver line running down the sleeve. "It looks great!" I said and Madam Traje begun to circle him. Nodding with each steep Madam Traje hid a proud smile. "This will do wonderfully for you." she said pointing a sharp finger making Ethan move back.
