• Claire awoke hot and sticky from a nightmare. She wiped her head and heaved out of bed to drink a glass of water in the bathroom, pouring down her dry throat. "It can't be. It's too late to be having another flash. It's already summer!" Sighing, Claire brushed her long, chocolate brown hair and started to get dressed. Choosing carefully a yellow ruffled dress from her small sized closet, she applied the white high heels onto her feet and went into the living room. Her mother, Nancy, peered up from her book and smiled. "Morning. Did you rest well?" Mom looked awfully cheerful. "It was alright. Anyway, what’s for breakfast? I'm starved!" Mom looked over to the kitchen table and shrugged. "Whatever you want and I'll make it for you." Claire grinned widely. "Bacon, eggs, a tuna sandwich and a tall glass of orange juice?" She nodded and approached the kitchen. Claire walked out of the kitchen and jogged around furniture like a maze and to the phone downstairs. She dialed her friend, Melonie who answered with a high tone. "Hey girl how you doing? How's my Clairie?" Claire laughed. "Fine. Did you get those train tickets from Rin?" “Naw, not yet. He did say he will give them to us this upcoming Friday.” Claire squealed. “California here we come!” “So see you at eight?” Melonie finally asked. “Yep. Well, I gotta go. Breakfast. I’ll visit for the grand feast at 5:00 like you said.” Melonie moaned. “Why don’t you just come now?” Claire thought and came up with a great excuse. “I got to eat breakfast. Remember?” Melonie sighed similar to her moan and said farewell. “Whew! Thought I’d never get off the phone.” After running back to the kitchen, she found herself drooling for her wonderful breakfast.
