• It was dark. Jasne and I were in the basement eating. ”Chika!!!” Came a call from outside.” Oh no…..” Jasne groaned. The party was over. “I know you’re in there, your brother told me!”
“Quick, we can tell Gorner off later. Open the fridge!” I whispered to Jasne. As we scooped the food out of sight, I could sense Darnein getting angrier, though her voice wouldn’t tell. I rushed up the stairs and fastened the steel bolt only just before she began to slam into the door.
You could tell The Sharen School Times was desperate for a story. They believed the rumors, and that’s rare. But I knew, they were right. Some of the rumors were true, and that had been proved last year, when Kearea, the coolest kid in school, was seen kissing a Nerd!
She started yelling now. ”Chika! Let me in. You can’t hide forever!” She screamed. Jasne and I bared our fangs, ready to fight.
“Let’s get out the window. We’ll knock her out and bring her home.”
“Good idea.” She replied. We crawled through the small basement window and silently, or as quietly we could move in the rain, we crept up behind Darnein. I was given the honor of K.O.ing her. She never liked me. She knew that I was, well, different.
