• I look across to the ocean. Blue. Brilliant. Magnificent. The mist greets my face pleasantly. I'm happy. My legs lay before me, enveloping the sun and heat. My friend lays next to me, smile-napping. I nap too. It doesn't last.

    "Look at how high the tide is!"
    I blink twice and look. She's right.
    "woww...." I sigh.
    The next thing I know, she's in the water splashing about and giggling. I grab my magazine and flip through pages randomly. I'm glad she's having fun. I hear a Large splash, but I'm sure she's fine. But then I don't hear anything. I look up from Teen Vogue....and see nothing. All of a sudden she pops out of the water and screams.
    "Heelpp! *gargle* I'm getting....*gargle, splash* "
    I drop Teen Vogue and scurry into the water. I stop in my tracks. Cold.
    "Hurry!!!" I notice her flailing her arms like an octopus.
    With much force I plow my way through the water to her. It's too late. Blood...everywhere in the water. Closing in on me. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" I scream.
    * * * *
    "Nooo!" A violent shake wakes me up. "Look what you diiid!" She gestured to a pile of sand.
    "you knocked over my sand castle while you were having a bad dream..." She sighs angrily.
    "Sorry?" I ask in a sheepish tone. But it doesn't matter. She's alive. My body moves over to her and my arms wrap around her. "You died in my dream."
    I whisper. I hug her tighter. "Hey look at how high the tide is!" she squeal-moved away from me. "Come on!"
    She's in the water before I can say no. My feet take me to her , not even stopping at the piercing cold. "You...You died out here."
    She stopped playing and I grabbed her wrist. "I would kill myself if you died."
    I murmured. We headed back to our towel, packed out things, got dressed, and left.
    "how about we go shopping?" she asks me.
    "Sounds like a deal!" we high five and pull out our wallets.
    "$500 should do!" I laugh. We do a happy jump and start walking to the mall.
