• “I would love to” Ivy said, smiling at Mason. Mason smiled back with pure excitement glad he worked up the courage to ask her.

“I’ll pick you up at 7:00 then” He said taking the tie as she nodded “See you then Ivy” She nodded again her smile made Mason feel warm inside. Mason turned and headed for the front of the store. When he was back in his car he banged the steering wheel with excitement while whispering “Yes, yes, yes!” He turned the key and the engine roared to life.

    Ivy

I stared in disbelief for a few seconds at the front door, the hottest guy at school just asked me to the Fall Ball! After a few more seconds of controlling my jumbling thoughts I yelled “Tammy!” I waited a second until I saw her caramel colored hair as she peeked around the side of one of the shelves. I motioned with my hand for her to come. She walked out slowly towards me, cautiously making sure that Mason was gone. When she finally decided he was she skipped happily to the front of the register.

“So, what happened?!” She asked jumping up and down.

“He asked me to the Ball!” I said with delight. Tammy squealed happily.

“I told you it would happen, I told you!” She said in her “I told you so” voice of hers. I rolled my eyes and looked down at my hands; on the back of my right hand was my mark. The mark that marked me as a Supernatural, it’s a scar in the shape of an S. I sighed all supernatural’s had them.

I was practically about to break down the door when our shift was over to get to the car, to get ready for the Fall Ball. “Bye, Anne” I called you her as we started to the front door.

“Bye girls, have fun at the dance! And thanks again!” I heard her call from somewhere to my right.

“We will, see you tomorrow!” With that I walked out of the door as quickly as I could and hopped in the car. Tammy hopped in after me and I stuck the key in the ignition and we were off.
When I pulled up my drive I saw the sleek red BMW in the driveway. I cut the engine and stared inside, sure enough there was my mom in the kitchen. “Tammy, best behavior” I said to her, she nodded and we hopped out of the car. I opened the backdoor and my mom turned and smiled at me.
    “Hi pumkin how was school?”
“Good, what are you doing home so early?” I asked as she dried her hands on a dishtowel after finishing the dishes, which I hadn’t noticed her doing.

“Oh I had to stop home to get some papers, but I noticed the dishes weren’t done so I decided to wait for you and do them. I’ll be heading back out in a minute” She said. Of course you will I thought, your never home I wanted to say. You don’t seem to care that I fend for myself when it comes to food, all you and dad care about is your precious jobs not about your daughter.

“Well me and Tammy have to get ready, were going to the school dance.”

“That’s great your always sitting upstairs it’s good that you getting out more.” Since when do you notice what I do? She took a quick glance at her watch and said “Jeepers I would love to stay and chat but the boss will kill me if I’m not back in about 15 minutes! Have fun at the dance girls” She called over her shoulder as she left. Yeah mom I understand you need to get back to work, oh did I mention I’m going to the Fall ball with the HOTTEST guy in the whole 10th grade and possibly the whole school? No I didn’t my mistake.

“Let’s go get ready Tammy” I said making my way to the stairs as she nodded.
