• After having a glass of wine I felt bushed. I was tired and started to get alittle grouchy at all the reporters talking about Joel and his dad. Finally I just stood up and shut the television off. I walked into the kitchen and observed were the oil had spilled, hoping that the floor wasn't slick now. I ran my sock covered foot over the tiles and felt the oil helping push my foot along. "D***..." I sigh setting my wine on the counter and bending down to get a closer look. "I shouldn't have been so stupid and put the dishes away when I'm supposed to." I growl to myself.
The floor was shinny with a nice reflection that was like mirror.
I stood up and walked to the sink, opening the cupboard under it and taking out a spong and floor cleaner, along with a small bucket of water. I got back down on my hands and knees and got the spong full of soapy water.
House work wasn't that hard for me. It was actually like a talent. You could hand me a coffee stained shirt and I could get the mess out within the day, even when I was due in court, I could still get it done. You could have a kitchen filled with dirty dishes and dirty rages and everything's everywhere, it would only take me a few hours to finish putting everything back to normal. But I'm not a clean freak, trust me. I'm not. If you saw my bedroom when I was kid you would be surprised at how clean I keep this house now. It was like a dump...
I scrubbed deep into the oil soaked tiles and started to sweat. The floor was wet and damn from the water, and there was no doubt that if you walked across it now you would fall flat on your face. But I was getting the oil out, so that was happy to know.
There was a soul of glass sliding on something smooth and then the noise of footsteps.
I turned around and saw Joel walking away with my wine. I jumped and stood up. "Hey! Your too young to have that!" I boast feeling my glasses starting to fall off my nose. I pushed them back up.
Joel walked around me and stood over the sink. He turned to me, his eyes sharp.
A shiver went down my spine.
He held the glass over the drain and narrowed his eyes. "Hmph." He growled before tilting the glass all the way upside down, the red liqour came pouring out and left a red trail as it ran down the drain.
I blinked in confusion. "...Why the whine?"
He put the glass down on the counter and looked at the floor. "It's bad for you. It'll turn you into the a bad person..." He said quietly.
I sighed and felt my heart start to hurt for him again. "Oh... I see. I'm sorry, Joel. I should have thought about you before I broke out the liqour for myself. I'm am really sorry, okay?" I say sincerly.
He nodded and turned to go back to his bedroom. "Yeah..."
I got back down and began cleaning again. My stomach growled for more wine. I sighed and shook my head. "Geez..." I say quietly.

Later that night while I was in my bed room reading a good book I found in the sales section at Barnes and Noble, I heard someone walking around.
After a few seconds afterwards there was silence, so I went back to reading.
Hmm... I wonder if Joel likes books... I think.
A knock on my door echoed in my room.
I looked up at the door. "Yes?"
A flash went through the room and then a loud boom followed.
Joel opened the door quickly and slammed it shut, breathing hard. "It's storming outside..." He said looking at me in fear.
    I smirked. "And?"
    Thunder boomed again.
He jumped and stepped closer to me.
I sighed and put my book down. "Do you want to sleep in here?"
A flash went through the room again.
    Joel stiffened and nodded quickly.
A boom echoed in my room.
I smiled. "Sure, sure. Uhm... I've had anyone sleep in here like this before so... Go back into your room-."
He stepped even closer. "No! Please, sir? I'm sorry I dumped out your drink! Just let me stay in here!"
I chuckled. "I was just going to tell you to get your blanket and pillow."
He nodded and stood there, not going to get anything.
    I blinked.
He looked at the floor and swallowed.
"Would like me to go and get it for you?" I ask cocking an eyebrow.
    He nodded slowly.
I smiled and stood up, walking past him and to the door.
He followed and hung his head all the way to the bed room. And when we got to his bed room the thunder crashed and flashed through the windows. He jumped and ran close up to me, staying only two feet away.
I looked back at him as I grabbed his pillow and blanket. "Are you alright?"
He nodded and looked away from me. "Y-... yeah..."
I smiled and lead him back to my bed room. I held out his stuff. "Go and find a place to sleep, okay? I don't care where. If you want to sleep on my bed that's fine, I'll sleep on the floor."
"But... If you sleep on the floor that wouldn't be fair... This is your hose..." He said looking confused.
I chuckled. "It's okay. Your the guest, and I'm happy to sleep on the floor for your sake."
He blinked and looked at the floor. "Oh... But... Can't we both sleep on the bed? It's big enough, isn't it?"
I laughed. "Sure, sure. But Goober might get alittle mad that your in his spot."
    He looked at me. "Goober...?"
I blushed foolishly. "Yeah, uh... He's my dog... I let my old girlfriend name him... Dumb choice, huh?"
    He nodded.
A flash went through the room.
Joel knew what was coming next and immediatly hid behind me.
I rolled my eyes and grinned. "I've never seen a kid run from negative and possitive friction from a storm before..." I say under my breath.
He followed closely behind me as I walked to my bed and layed down. He stayed at the side of my bed for a few seconds before it became awkward to have a boy standing right next to me in total silence.
A crack ripped through the air.
Joel gasped and tightly gripped onto his blanket and pillow in his arms.
I smiled in amusement. "Do you want to lay down?"
He nodded, his eyes on the window like a scary man was going to burst through the glass and scream at him.
I pointed next to me on the opposite side of the bed. "Then lay down."
He nodded again and walked around the bed.
I got comfortable on my side and reached to shut off the light.
Joel gasped. "Wait! I'm not in bed yet!" He burst.
I blinked and pulled my hand away. "Okay, okay. I'm sorry."
He looked away cautiously and layed down, getting comfortable.
I watched him as he put his pillow under his head and pulled his blanket over him, all the way up to his shoulders. "You good now?"
    He nodded.
I smiled and shut off the light.

When I woke up I felt something holding onto my shirt. I blinked in confusion.
Goober doesn't have apposible thumbs does he...? Who the hell is holding onto me?
I turned my head as far as it could go and saw a boy with his hair covering his face, his chest moving up and down softly. I blinked for a moment, trying to remember if I had a kid in the last few hours.
No... That can't be right... Did some random chick just leave her kid on my doorstep or something?
I felt my heart race in fear.
Oh my god! Did I kidnap him!?
I jumped and looked at him in fear.
Wait... Why would I kidnap a kid? And why is he sleeping my bed!?
Oh... Hold on... I think I remember now... I went into my bosses office yesterday and I saw this kid sitting in a chair... He said... What the h*** did he say again...? ...
    I gasped.
I have to take care of him till his case is finished! And... I'm the lawyer in charge of his case... I turned over and face him.
His hand falling on the mattress as my shirt was pulled away from him.
Why couldn't I remember any of that at first...? I think narrowing my eyes.
Hmm... Maybe I'm just not used to having a teenager sleeping in my bed...
I blinked in fear. "There's a teenager sleeping in my bed..."
Joel's face distorted and his eyes slowly opened.
I sat up and felt my self feel odd.
Joel grunted and sat up too. "What's going on? Why am I in your bed?"
Obviously he's not used to this either...
I yawned. "You were afraid of the lightning and thunder so I let you sleep in here."
He nodded slowly and wrubbed his forehead. "I'm hungry..."
"Your random in the mornings aren't you?" I smiled looking at him.
He looked back at me and blinked, not saying anything.
I laughed at the face he made and stretched. "Nice face."
    "Nice hair." He teased yawning.
I put my hands over my hair. "Eh? Is it sticking up again?"
Woah... Wait... Is he coming out of his shell to me? Is he actually acting like a normal kid!? Yes! Score for Timothy!
He smirked for a second and pointed at my head. "Yeah. It's going all over the place. It looks like a bomb exploded in your face."
    I laughed. "Good one."
He nodded and stretched his arms out. "Yeah... My arm hurts..." He said looking at the arm that had been sticking out and holding my shirt like he would die if he wasn't.
I smiled. "That's because you were holding onto my shirt the whole night."
He looked at me in shock and confusion. "What...?"
I pointed to my shirt. "You were holding onto this while you were sleeping."
He looked down at glared at his hands. "D***... I haven't gripped onto anyone since I was five..."
I shrugged. "I didn't really care. I'm just not used to waking up to someone holding onto my like that." I say scratching my neck.
    He yawned.
Goober walked through the bed room door, having heard I was awake.
Joel jumped at the sight of the large dog and almost fell off the bed.
I held out my hand and whistled. "Up, Goober. Come on. Get up here." I call.
His ears percked up and stood at the edge of my bed for a second, before jumping up on me.
I laughed and layed back down, letting him lick my face.
Joel watched my big dog cautiously.
I sat up after Goober was done eating my face and pointed to my pet. "This is Goober. He is a Husky and German Shepard mix. So he's good guard dog, but doesn't actually hurt anyone. I don't think he's even barked at anyone other then my ex-girlfriend." I grinned.
Joel nodded, not seeming to really like my precious dog.
I looked at Goober, who was looking at Joel in curiousity. I grinned. "You want to say hello, Goober."
    Joel stiffened. "What?"
Goober held his head down and whimpered, asking Joel to pet his head.
    I nodded to Joel.
He reached out and petted his head softly.
Goober's tail wagged like crazy as he made Joel his newest friend.
    I chuckled. "He likes you."
Joel reached out to pet him with his other hand.
I gasped and grabbed his arm. "Joel! Your arm!"
Joel looked at it and grimaced.
The bandages were stained with blood and looking grewsomely painful.
I pulled him out of the bed room and into the bathroom. "Sit down on the toilet." I ordered.
He sat down and watched me.
    I walked to the cupboard and pulled out the bandages and a thing of wound cleaner. {Alcohol}
He started to take off his bandages slowly.
I watched as his arm revealed itself.
The skin was red and irritated, but there were cuts that were covered up by green infected puss. The whole burnt area was covered in blood from when he was asleep and probably moving around on it.
I sighed and shook my head. "Okay. I'll clean it and it'll hurt, but if it gets worse, I'm taking you to the hospital, okay?"
He nodded and winced as I took his arm and observed it closer.
I felt my heart start to hurt as I was overwhelmed with guilt for inflicting this pain on him. Poor kid... I'm such an idiot... I think.
    He looked away.
I put some of the alcohol on a cloth for drying your hands and hesitated before dabbing it on his hurt skin.
He made a whimpering cry in his throat and closed his eyes.
    I sighed. "Sorry, Joel."
    {I have to go. I'll be back as soon as possible. Sorry... }
