• James had it to his last nerve.

It was really cool at first to be an English teacher for this high school since after all he was about a two minute driving distance from his apartment and his son's daycare center. There were also benefits of educating the young minds of his students by not only with literature itself, but life lessons he could tell to help them.

Who knew how bad this was going to be.......

It was only after the third month of the school term and James had enough of his honor and advance placement classes. Sure they were pretty smart and even polite to him, but.....It was their nonstop chattering and back talking to him that got his nerves worked up. He was the teacher, they shouldn't be questioning him!!

"Maybe I should resign," he muttered to himself as he drank his coffee in the teacher's room, "It's gotten worse since that boy transferred from Ms. Willams class...No wonder she warned me..."

"Oh hey. Is this seat taken?" James looked up to see a man with an odd black orange scarf, "I mean...Unless you want to be alone."

"Ah no problem," James told him after staring at him long enough to be considered to be gawking his fellow co-worker, "Um...I don't think we met before..."

"My name's Noah Burton," his new friend introduced himself and shook James' hand, "I teach the ninth grade honors English class in room 215."

"The name's James Franklin. I teach the eleventh graders in honors and in advanced placement."

"Oh so you're the new guy," Noah smiled, "Any kids giving you trouble? They like to do that a lot to the new guys." James sighed and looked at his coffee, "Yeah...Well not all, but the majority of the class does give me trouble. This new kid who transferred from another advance placement English class....He's the one who started all of this."

"Does this kid tower over you and looks like a lumber jack and not a student?" Noah questioned as he took out his cell phone and began to randomly push the buttons, "I had him once.....Very sharp tongued."

"Aren't we suppose to have those off?" James asked Noah in somewhat confusion as the man next to him texted, "Won't you get in trouble?" Noah looked at him in surprise and just laughed, "Nah....Just like with the students if we don't get caught it's okay. Besides, the school system here has so many loopholes in their policies. This must be your first teaching job huh?"

"....You're wearing weird shoes...." Noah glanced down to his combat boots that had red orange flames at the platforms and the metal cover over the toe, "I never saw anyone else dress like you...."

"I'm what you call the laidback and going with the flow type of guy," Noah explained as he grinned, "Heck, no one never told me I couldn't wear these type of shoes and this scarf. As long as my pants and my shirt are formal or uniform like attire it's all good. You should try it sometime." James stared at Noah, "......You must be the first coolest teacher here I've ever met." Again Noah grinned, "Hey I'm honored new guy."

"It's James....." Noah stood up, "Oh you got a class next period right? I'll come by later to help ya out since you let me sit with you. Peace." James awkwardly returned Noah's peace sign causing his co-worker to laugh, "We'll work on it."

James nodded and blushed a bit, ".....Guess this job can't be so bad," he finally smiled as he drained the last bit of his coffee before leaving to his classroom.
