• This world we live in seems cruel and strange, but sometimes right when things seem to be at their worst; and things can only get better, catastrophe strikes and everything has officially gone to hell.
No one knows this truth better than Dianna Heathers. Born in South Carolina she was raised by her cruel mother Melissa who beat her in spite of abandonment by her only love David who impregnated her at the age of 19 and left. Her usual day was clean, get beaten, cook, get beaten, eat, get beaten, sleep, and then repeat the cycle. The one time Dianna made the horrible mistake of running away and getting caught she was forced to spend 7 years of her life chained in the basement kept alive only by the sunlight that came through a shoe-box sized window and the fistful of food she was fed on a daily basis. When she was finally unchained, she ran away again. Except this time she came back (through some unmerited sense of guilt)...to a dead mom and a pack of zombie-like creatures. She barely escaped with her life. So now this 15 year old girl was left with nothing but the clothes on her back, some fruit, and a loaded pistol she took from her mother's bedroom.
Then there comes the dreadful story of Aiden Peterson. Aiden was raised in a fabulous and wealthy lifestyle. He was outgoing, smart, handsome, kind, and had everything in the world going for him. At the age of twenty he was still living with his parents and dating Karen, a young, beautiful, but poor girl. His parents John and Caitlin always showed their contempt towards her and finally forced Aiden to join the army to cease his relationship with Karen. Coincidentally, a war broke out between the U.S and the middle east and he soon found himself in it. When his time was up, he had witnessed death at it's most brutal. He was left a cold and hollow shell of his former self. When he came back the rest of the troop spilt up and were all killed. But Aiden was used to disaster and something so minor as a zombie invasion left him apathetic, which was key to his survival....
