• Chapter 3: When Our Lips touch
    _
“Why must she take everything out on me?” I asked myself as I cleaned the dinner room.

She was bickering about the meatloaf, which must have cooked dry while I was thinking of the boy. She wacked me in the face without warning and left the dinner table with the food untouched.

My father followed after looked at me with the same glance this morning. I still couldn’t look at him, with the feeling of being betrayal lingering in my heart. I held my cheek, looking away, and cried silently as he left.

“Still hurts.” Wincing at the pain of my cheek as I placed the leftovers into the plastic container. Stacking the last of the food into the fridge I sighed and walked back to the kitchen. Passing the small decor mirror, I caught a glance of the flushed part of my face.

It’s still there, I thought as I traced the handprint in the mirror. As I continued to outline the print, a mark underneath my neck caught my attention.

It’s from this afternoon. The boy’s face popped into my memory, That reminds me, how he is doing right now? Did he get to eat with the money that I gave him?

    ~Boy’s POV~
After recovering from the major hit I ran in the direction of my so-called-victim to where her home might be. She was carrying all those heavy bags so she shouldn’t be far. Looking around for tow hours, because of continuous dead ends, I found her.

    Bingo…

Not far from where I stood, lights flooded out of a window. The girl looked like she was crying as she washed the dishes. What should I do? Should I go or should I just run? No, no, no, I have to give her back her money! I shook my head. And without thinking I went towards the light and came into view.

    ~End POV~
My mind wondered off as I thought of the boy. Like a machine, I worked though the rest of my chores. But a knock on the window brought me back to reality. Blinking and looking around to see where that sound came from until I finally faced the window.

I almost screamed when I saw a face pressed against the window. However, I stopped short when I saw the golden-green eyes. He seemed surprised at my sudden jolt and moved back a little. A little scared at the reason why he was here, but also curious in why he followed me, I cautiously went to the door.

I moved the door slowly and cautiously just in case that he starts to attack. Realizing that he was just standing there I moved out onto the back ally.

“Do…. Do you need something?” trying to keep calm as he stood in front of me. He raised his hand and I flinched, and closed my eyes at the movement that I knew to well. Is he going to hit me?

“Here…” I heard him mumble as I opened my eyes to see the money that I had given him.

I was surprised that he didn’t use it. “Why?”

He frowned and took my hand, which I also flinched towards, and placed the money in my palms. “I don’t like charity.”

As I looked at his face I noticed the blush and tried to stifle a laugh. He looked at me angrily but brightened his blush even more. “What… What’s so funny!” he said as I started to laugh harder. I tried to speak but his blushing face kept me from forming into words and replaced with laughs. It took me a while until I returned my position

“I…. I’m sorry it’s just that your face was bright red.” At that his face flushed again, continuing my laugh. A large growling suddenly brought me out of my spell and looked at him. He looked away not wanting to say anything and want to get out of their as soon as possible.

    “Are….Are you hungry?” I asked.

“No.” but his stomach disagreed with a loud growl. His face flushed even redder as it continued its rants. “I… I’m not hungry, it’s just…”

“But your stomach disagrees.” I told him, “Hold on. I have some food leftover, well a lot really.” I laughed as I walked into the kitchen and opened the fridge. I didn’t hear him complain, meaning that he gave up to the hunger. The large container, in which I put all the lasagna in, was cold so I placed it in the microwave. As I waited I closed the door to the hallway to muffle out the sound of the electrical appliance.

Ding the food was ready to serve as I pulled out a fork from a drawer. I placed the utensil on top of the cover as I pulled it out. The smell must have gotten to him because the growling continued on. A smile sprigged up from my face, The growling is kind of cute.

Walking outside he seemed to drool as the smell coming from the container came closer. His eyes seemed to glow like an excited puppy. Raising it up he swiped it in such a speed that seemed impossible for a person and started to consume the cheesy-tomato-meat-sandwich. I was still stunned so I couldn’t tell him before it was too late. On his fourth bite he spattered with his tongue out.

“It’s hot.” I told him and he stared at me with a teary-eyed face.

“Phoo phate phor phat (to late for that)….” He answered back with his tongue still out.

Laughing I went to fetch him some water. The sound of the eating continued as I came out with the water. I sat in front him with my legs up against my chest as I watched him. It was so unexpected to see almost three-fourths of the lasagna in just three minutes. His mouth was covered in the red sauce so I tied to stand up to get a napkin. However, before I could even stand I immediately clutched my hand over my chest as a sharp pain brought me down.

He dropped the empty container and jolted to my side. He was saying something but I couldn’t hear the slurred words. The pain was so much worse than the other times that I had an attack. It wasn’t like a needle; it was as if a horse kicked me in the chest.

I didn’t understand anything that was happening only buzzing sounds and bells. At first I thought the pain subsided when the pressure disappeared, however, a second kick brought me down. I lost the battle of pain.

The last thing I saw was his worried eyes staring at me...

    ~Boy’s POV~

I didn’t know what happened. At first she was getting up, but then she fell onto her knees clutching her chest.
The container forgotten as it dropped with a clatter and I was next to her side. Sweat, and furrowed eyebrows; her eyes seemed dilated, and breathing unsteadily.

I’m panicking, just like that time.... as flashbacks of the death of my mother came through.

“Are you alright? Hey?! What should I do?” calm down.... I have to...

But before I could even compose myself, she fell fully onto the ground.

s**t! This is bad! I looked at her eyes when I realized that she was looking at me. Everything stood still as I looked at them. She closed her eyes and her breathing stopped altogether.

“Hey this is not funny!” I practically screamed as I rolled her over. She was definitely not breathing. I placed my ear over her small chest, knowing full well of a heating sensation come over my cheek.

That was when all hell broke loose as I heard of what should have been a bad-dump was just silence. Almost jumping away I looked around frantically, thinking I was on Candid Camera. But realizing that it was real I looked at her once more.

I got up slowly and turned a 180 and almost ran. However I stopped as flashbacks of her kindness pinned me down. Looking at her face that was starting to turn ashen, I realized that I had to save her.

I can’t leave her like this! She saved me with her kindness too many times! She can’t end here!

Before I knew it I placed my had over her chest and did what the medics would do. Press down 30 times; pinch nose; raise chin; breath in; check pulse.

The procedure continued what felt like forever. When I started the third round relief spread throughout my body as a moan escaped from her lips.

Her blue-gray eyes were revealed as the lids opened.
    And without thinking I...
    ~End POV~

I could hear panting as I regained my conscience. The pain was gone however the pain of my bones of my chest was soar. The panting was like a dog but I knew it was the boy.

    I just knew it was.

My eye lids were heavy lead as I tried to open them. They were sew shut by the weight but my persistence won as I opened my eyes. At first it was blurry, but as my eyes adjusted his happy face became my focal point. I couldn’t believe the amazing-angel-like smile. It was to beautiful for this man to have.

I was still staring at him when I noticed that he was getting closer. I didn’t know what was going on before it happened.

The angels lips were placed firmly onto my lips.

Everything went blank. I just knew that I before my mind could agree, I started kissing back....
