• The Curse of Love Revamped

This is the warm embrace no one knows………..

What is love if you can’t hold it? What is love when you don’t know it? What is love if you do have it, but don’t know how to show it? That’s how Zane Johnson Feels. As the tears shed, the hope of love is lost between Zane and Tori. Ever since that day, it hasn’t been the same. It was towards the end of the school year, almost one year since the incident. It was the AMS 8th grade Social. Every girl would be going. All except for Tori. Her heart was already broken, so why would she go?

“C’mon, Tori, you have to get over Zane!” exclaimed Jessica to Tori. She was Tori’s BFF.
Tori’s face was motionless. “I can’t, Jessica, I just can’t get over him, yet.”
“Please? I’ll hook you up with somebody! I mean, I don’t want you to be left out. I’m going with Dallas, Jamie is going with Conar. I don’t want you at home by yourself.”
Tori actually started to lighten up. “Ok, maybe your right. Zane isn’t here anymore and I have to move on.”
“Exactly! Now we’re going shopping for your dress.”
    “After school?”
“AFTER SCHOOL!” Tori was as bright as a cherry blossom.

The day went by quick, just like an instant. Tori met up with Jessica at the Harford Mall.

“So, where should we go first? JC Penny? Sears? Old Navy?” asked Tori thoughtfully.
“No, no, and ew… let’s grab something to eat first,” said Jessica. They then went to the food court, talking about the dance and all that girl stuff. Tori decided to strike up another conversation. “So who are you going to fix me up with?” asked Tori anxiously.
“Oh, you’ll see. Actually, he’s right there! James, over here!” Tori suddenly turned around, taking a glance at James. Her eyes were wide open. Tori would describe him as muscular, strong, teenager boy lover looks, chisel like jaw. Tori thought he was perfect. “James, I would like you to meet Tori!”
“Hey,” said James. His voice was majestic pounding in Tori’s ears.
“Hi…….” said Tori all dreamy like. James took a seat at there table. “Aren’t you the school’s quarterback for the football team?”
“Oh, so you do know me,” said James.
It was pretty much quiet for awhile, till Jessica wanted Tori and James to get the know each other. “So…… what are you’re guys interests, like, favorite color?”
“Lavender!” exclaimed both Tori and James. “You too?” asked James. “I always thought I was the odd one out.
“No, I’m pretty much in love with the color…..” said Tori again with the dreamy voice and eyes. They both stared into each other’s eyes, simultaneously ignoring the rest of Jessica’s questions.
Jessica managed a smile for the both of them. “Uh, Tori, we have to go get your dress!” exclaimed Jessica.
“Huh? Oh yeah, that’s right,” said Tori disappointed. “I have to go, James.”
“Sure go. I’ll see you at the dance tomorrow,” said James. Tori and Jessica walked away from the table giggling about James as he smiled away. “So do you still like Zane?” asked Jessica still giggling. “Zane who?” Tori just laughed away.

They went into the ladies petite section of JC Penny. Tori and Jessica just ravaged all the dresses they could find. She tried on a signature blue dress that looked absolutely stunning. “Does it look right, I don’t want to look like a fool in front of James,” asked Tori to Jessica.
“You are rockin’ that dress. So, what do you think of James?” asked Jessica back, but she would already know the answer.
“HE’S HOT JESSICA! YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT!!!” exclaimed Tori.
“OK, jeez, you don’t have to scream,” said Jessica with a grin.
Tori looked back into a mirror, but as she looked, she saw the reflection of someone looking into the same mirror from a distance. For some weird apparent reason, she believed it was Zane. She turned around as quickly as possible to catch who it really was. No one was there. “Is there something wrong, Tori?” asked Jessica.
Tori paused. “N-no. I thought I just saw something wrong with- it’s nothing,” replied Tammi
    “Are you sure?”
Tori turned around furiously. “NOTHING IS WRONG JESSICA!!!!!!” Jessica had her eyes wide open. “I’m sorry,” said Tori after a while. “It’s just that,” taking a seat next to Jessica, “I kind of miss…….. Zane.”
Jessica was getting mad at her. “Ok. Ok. If you miss Zane so much, go be miserable at home. Don’t say I didn’t try to help,” said Jessica getting up and walking away. Tori was left there by herself, trying her best to forget about Zane.

The days quickly passed by. During the school days, Tori and Jessica didn’t talk to each other. They were still mad at one another, or so Jessica was mad at her. Tori was getting ready for her date. As she came down stairs, she saw both of her parents and James waiting down there for her arrival.
“My little girl is growing up…. *sniff*,” said Mrs. Peterson.
“She isn’t our little girl now. She’s still our little baby….. *sniff*” said Mr. Peterson
Tori started to blush. “Mom, dad….. You’re embarrassing me……” said Tori with a smile. She came down stairs taking James’s hand. “C’mon Tori. We’ll walk there,” said James with the brightest tempting smile. Before they even had a chance to reach the door, Tori’s parents stopped them. “ONE PICTURE!” exclaimed Mr. Peterson. Both Tori and James showed there truest smiles.
“This is going on the family fire place! Oh, and James. Have her back by 12:00 or else…… we’ll have to pick you up. ,” said Mr. Peterson.
“Will do, Mr. Peterson,” said James with a sly grin. They both exited out the door. Mr. Peterson’s disappeared. “I don’t like him. I liked that boy Zane better. What ever did happen to him?” Mrs. Peterson just gave a low shrug.

It was the time of the social, at exactly 7:30. There is always a red carpet at every social at the front door for the teens to walk through. As Tori and James approached the door, James decided to suddenly strike up a conversation. “So I can’t wait to dance!”
“Me too! I just think this might be the best night of my life! Come on!” Tori pulled James into the entrance. As she ran with James through the door, she took a side view to her right. Unsurprisingly, she saw him again. She saw Zane. She stopped in her tracks to believe it was actually Zane, but James accidentally knocked her down, taking her view away from the so-called vision of Zane. When she struggled to see him again, he wasn’t there.
“Oh my god, Tori. I am so sorry, let me help you up,” said James trying to be helpful.
“No, I can get up myself. I’m gonna go find Jessica,” said Tori. She got up and went in. As she searched for Jessica, she had thoughts about seeing Zane. Was it actually him? Am I going crazy? Will I see him ever again? She found Jessica near the tables of snack and drinks.
“Jessica!” yelled out Tori. Jessica looked up and smiled at her and yelled back, “Tori!” They ran to each other and hugged. “You actually came!!” said Jessica.
    “I know!”
“Are you over Zane?” asked Jessica still happy.
Tammi paused for a sec, but then said, “Yeah!” Jessica smiled. She finally is told the truth.
    “Where’s Dallas?” asked Tori.
“He and his band are getting ready to play. They should be on after this next song. I never even knew he had a band! I mean, Dallas plays guitar, Conor plays Bass, they have some guy named Alexander play as drums, and they have a vocalist whose name I don’t know of, but I heard they are really good! Their name of there band is “The Lete” or something like that. Well I’m getting front row view for their first song. Bye!”
The next song started to play. It was “Not Meant to be” by Theory of a Deadman. Tori couldn’t believe it. It was the song that both of Zane and Tori had last heard. “Oh my god….” Tori was about to faint onto the floor until James ran and caught her. “Are you ok?” asked James.
“Again, I’m fine physically. Emotionally, no,” said Tori in a low tone.
“Do you still wanna dance?” asked James, knowing it was a bad time to ask.
Tori was nervous, but answered, “Uh, sure James.” As everyone else was doing, they held each other close together. As they danced throughout the song, Tori was crying on James’s tux. At the end of the song, Tori started to breakdown crying on her knees after the song ended with, “Maybe we’re not meant to be.”
“Tori are you ok?” asked James trying to comfort her.
“NO JAMES, I’M NOT!!” screamed out Tori. “JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!!”
“Fine! Be that way!” said James and left her.

Tori cried and cried on her knees. Her friends tried to comfort her, but nothing could help. Except…….

“Tori? Tori can you here me?” said a voice from an amp in the room. “This song is for you.” Tammi looked up. It was Dallas’s band. Conar, Alexander, himself, but who was the vocalist?

    Zane.

Tori couldn’t believe her ears, let alone believe her eyes. It really was him, it really was him! thought Tori with her thoughts racing through her mind. “This song is for you Tori, no one else. This is our song,” said Zane. He and the band played, “No Surprise” by Daughtry. It was like how everything started out. All of this was no surprise. It was no surprise Zane never left her heart.
