• Stev looked up from his twin sized bed, he metallic blue eyes gazed at the moon, questioning it’s authority of even being there and sighed as he started to get up a dressed ‘I can’t believe I’m doing this!’ he thought and he’s eyes changed to a dark red as he stared frustrated at a poster, frustrated that his sister forced him into this stupid meeting ‘all they seem to think about is vampires’ he explained to her the day she brought it up ‘and they don’t know what to if they saw a real one’ that is when she giggled and left the room exclaiming to her friends what an excellent idea he gave her. He smiled slightly at the reoccurring thought, but as that smile appeared a darker thought rushed though his mind, his parents, they always seemed to know what he was thinking or saying, or so they said. When he came home one day confused that a girl asked he what was with his eyes, he’s father took he out side and showed him the moon.
“See that, son?” his fathers voice rippled though his head, he saw himself nod, “that is the very reason we are here on this mortal world, that moon gave us our ability” and as he thought back he always agreed with that logic and then his father would say something like “we vampires don’t belong on this mortal world, the ghost belongs here then human race belongs here but not us vampires but that moon brought us here for a reason and some day we’re find that reason and go where we belong.”
“But what is our abilities dad?” was always his confused reply, and his father would smile and start listing them
“And one of our family’s special traits is our eyes what color are your eyes Steven?” Stev was stumbled on that one and said some random color like blue, for some reason Stev was interested in blue, he would laugh only to sigh and look Stev right in the nose and say “no your eyes are linked to your emotions so they can be any color under the devils sun, but I must warn you never change your emotions so fast that your eyes can’t catch up”
“That I will never get back again, because they got caught” he spat out the last few words. Then a memory of a day that changed his life flashed. Him being sent to the office because the police just gave his teacher a call, him sitting, staring at the mixed color wall try so hard to identify all the colors on the wall but always drawn to the blue, hearing the gun fire and the rough voice of a cop saying that that was a warning shoot, then rushing to the nearest window, seeing those teeth, ever haunting teeth, one little pinch and all of your blood disappeared, then that horrible bang sound as his father fell to the ground see memories of his father, taking him “fishing”, then thinking of all the vampire stories of how they can’t die of a bullet, only by the golden bullet, thinking how much of a lie that was as his mother fell, hand clinching above her heart knowing that that was a vital spot, all he remember next was running, propelled forward by the thought of being an orphan, forever, dodging that last bullet as it grazed his cheek and ear, the fire red pain as he gasped for breathe to soothe it, hearing the click of the gun, as if it was saying “sorry chuck no more”, feeling the rage of losing something he held dear, his already clinched fist tighten as he gave that fatal blow, a temple shot, seeing the fear and horror with the slightest touch of confusion in the cops face, all twisted up. Screaming in the cops face telling them to bring them back as I felt the live drain from his grasp, kicking and screaming when the staff pulled him off that now died cop, hear the same word over and over again “Vampire”. As Stev’s hand reached for his cheek the memory ended, he quickly gasped as he felt the scared tissue and twisted at the pain. ‘Always the same’ he thought as the pain receded, to him it seemed like a flash picture movie, how it continues to thrust forward and leaving a bit unheard and unseen, like all that blood that was there afterwards. After he finally managed to get dressed he started to creep open the window, his finger grasping the bottom of the seal praying that the window doesn’t make that horrible blood curdling squeak, fearing that if it did there will be a new world war, that’s how it seems in Forks, one wrong twitch and they will kill, ‘dumb mortals’ he thought as that quick thought of murder touched him. It came to the point that the window was finally half-way open when his other fear came, ‘someone’s at the door’ he thought as he stole a glance at the door to caught it turn, he swore quickly and attempted to reach for his knife only to realize that it was somewhere else, where he didn’t know. ‘a retrieval spell should work’ he thought as he recited those words of which no mortal can remember and did so at a bare whisper, so he didn’t startle the person at the door, and the knife shot up from his backpack and flew to his outstretched hand and he quickly pulled the magic trigger. He loved his knife, it was his best hunting knife, the handle a bit larger then his fist but the blade is about the size of his fingertips to his elbow, so almost four times as big as the handle and it was a switch-blade, to top it off it had a slight curve to the blade, all was made for him by him and his magic. As it extended to its full size the door handle turned and the door opened only a hair.
“Who’s there?” a voice call, light and famine, Stev didn’t dare to open the door to see who it was, but was ashamed of his fear, and whispered “airismareith” the word for close and the blade slide to the halt and resealed itself. The voice called again “is that you Stev, its me Merannda”
He slammed his window down and it clicked into place and stood up and opened the door, and there she was Merannda, the little brat was one of his sister’s friends
“Why did you bug me, I was going to go though the window” Stev whispered to Merannda as he closed the door behind him, the magic screen showed no one was there.
“Why bother” Merannda commented rudely, “you know the Haraven got us the okay right?” Haraven is Stev’s little sister and how she managed to get the okay he don’t know unless it’s by magic. Has they got to Magic Security Center main double doors the MSC guard stopped them and requested the two to show their passports. Stev tried to confess that he didn’t have one when Merannda gave him a dark look ‘sometimes I think that the younger group members knows more then the senior members’ Stev thought as he realized that the plan was in action. Suddenly the guard fell fast and hard, in his was a little girl about ten, her raven black hair concealed her dark black eyes.
“Nice work Rayven” I quickly commented “you have improved in paralyzing attacks” her eyes eased up as she saw me safe from harm, life somewhat depended on mine.
“Thanks Tyerish” she bowed and spoke softly then it changed to her normal hardness “Merannda, Tyerish we have a code black, lets go, oh and Haraven has requested that we go to plan B” her voice creaked as she spoke Haraven’s name and Stev was always noticing when those two would fight that this would happen, but Stev didn’t dare to press on the issue ‘they are going to have to deal with it alone’ he thought, and quickly hacked into the mainframe of the MSC and erased all files of the six of them even being there and any reports on them.
“We are good to go, they don’t even know we exist” Stev said to the two girls as he closed my laptop. And dialed a number and as the person on the other end pick up he said “its done that the data base is wiped” there was a pause “yes they are here” another pause “okay lets go red blood!” and hung up and exited the chamber that has kept them there that has told him is name is Stev, and that Stev is a mortal, when really his name is Tyerish Narogod and that he is a vampire. He left that world behind leaving the vital reality and that disgusting food that the military eats he missed the blood, he missed his life. Haraven, Merannda, Rayven, and Tyerish formed the Rejoined and opened it up to all vampires now after the years of hiding and planning they where ready to leave this place forever, all it took was him, him the boy who killed a cop because the cop killed his parents, him, the boy who starved for weeks on end because he never gave up his name, he was the beginning and he was the end, all he had to do is walk though that door and the signal will go off and all the door and windows containing vampires will open, all the windows and door that make it seem like prison will open and they will be free, never to hide again, never to see the insides of these wall until they are destroyed. This is the end, he was the end, and there be all places for them all outside these walls for all. One last memory flashed that he will see in this place, he saw his father and mother, both sitting on the beach the moon above them his father looked up at him and said “there will come a time where you will have to do what you must to help you sister to free your friends, but whatever you do don’t think about it, don’t think of the punishment, but the awards and do it” the flash ended and he saw Merannda’s and Rayven’s faces they wanted it as badly as he did and they where thinking of the monsters that kept them there.
‘Whatever you do don’t think about it, don’t think of the punishment, but the awards and do it’ he’s father’s voice yelled, that was the thought of every vampire in the rotten, rust, blooded place they are trapped in, “lets do this” he said and saw Merannda and Rayven nod and he stepped out the double sided door that showed him the outside world, and buzzer went off and as planned the rest fled no more vampires in that place again and the final piece of the puzzle fell. The Magic Security Center exploded and went into flames and the last thing that went though his mind as he teleported them all from that secret place was ‘please lady of the moon grant me and my people go to that special place where my father said we will go to when someone finds out why we are here.’
