• Nothing ever scared Joey. He always wanted adventure. Anything to give him the crazy energetic thrill. One day he got just that.
Joey did not believe in paranormal events. He thought it was just lies to scare people. In his backyard there was woods. The trees cast menacing shadows over the house. Joey decided to go into the woods. “I will not be scared, “I will not die,” He repeated as he hopped over the weak rusty metal fence. Joey walked farther and farther into the plant like hell. Great oak trees stood tall over the short shrubs. Dead hollowed out trees slumped over like a person asleep in a chair. Just limo, lifeless. Dried out leaves covered the ground like a blanket. He kept walking deeper and deeper trying to find a safe route with no thorns. He turned back to see his house but he couldn’t spot it. Swallowed up by trees.
He walked and walked until he didn’t know where he was. “I will not be scared,” I will not die,” he said panting. He started to go crazy. A twisted vine wrapped around a tree appeared as a snake to him. Suddenly he stumbled over something. Out of his daze he picked up. A rusty bike. As he studied it he had a frightening vision. He saw a kid on a bike, He peddled through the trees and then the dread. The bike flipped and the kid went soaring head first and hid the ground. His arm misshapen, the bone poking out from the open gash in the skin. His face pail, his head tilted to one side. The image flashed vividly and Joey awoke. Frightened he ran, and ran, and ran. Through patches of thorns. The thorns cut his face and neck. Scarlet blood dripped from the open wounds.
He had no clue where he was going. Just ran and ran. People say if you go into the woods you’ll see Joey run past you. Other people say he died of hunger and just collapsed somewhere in the woods. His body, rotting away day by day. Nobody ever will know what happened to Joey. Apparently no one cares, and it would stay that way forever.
